‘Surprised By Love’: Hallmark Comedy-Romance Movie On Tonight, Starring Tim Conway And Hilarie Burton
Surprised By Love will light up our screens with comedy and romance in Hallmark Channel’s TV movie tonight. Also known as Coup de foudre en sursis, it originally aired on Hallmark in January 2015. Tonight’s re-airing comes on the heels of the Hallmark’s Countdown to Valentine’s Day programming. Surprised By Love is an uplifting movie that is directed by Robert Iscove and written by Neal H. Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky. It stars the legendary Tim Conway as Grandad, Hilarie Burton as Josie Mayfield, Paul Campbell as Gridley/Maxwell, Aaron Craven as Richard, Patti Allan as Mrs. Wilson, and Wanda Cannon as Claire, according to Cleveland.

Surprised By Love movie synopsis
Surprised By Love details the life of Josie Mayfield, a tenacious businesswoman who sees after her father’s cookware company. It’s business as usual when Josie bumps into Gridley, a former schoolmate and friend who is now a struggling but talented artist. As they talk for a few minutes, it seems like the old days when Gridley and Josie always had the most interesting conversations and something to laugh about. They have no idea how they lost contact, but Josie is glad to have Gridley back in her life. Meanwhile, Josie’s successful boyfriend, Richard, seems like a better choice, except her parents, Joseph and Claire, cant stand him. When Richard finally meets Gridley at the Riverwalk, it gives him the grand idea to impress Josie’s parents by allowing them to see what a loser her friend Gridley is. The perfect opportunity will present itself during Joseph and Claire Mayfield’s 40th anniversary party where Richard has arranged for Josie to arrive with Gridley.
At first, it looks like everything is going to plan, since Joseph and Claire remember Gridley as an underachieving misfit who is not worth their daughter’s time. But things change after Josie’s parents spend more time with Gridley and begin to like him. Plus, keeping close company makes Josie like Gridley even more. As the romance between them heats up and the relationship between Gridley and her parents becomes more amicable, Richard realizes that he may have created a problem that just might threaten his very relationship with his true love, Josie. Will Josie choose Mr. Wrong, in order to be happy? Or will she try to keep finding Mr. Right?
