Kylie Minogue Engaged To ‘Galavant’ Co-Star Joshua Sasse: Watch Them Perform Together [Video]
Kylie Minogue has found her Prince Charming in Joshua Sasse, the star of the ABC fairy tale TV series Galavant. The Aussie singer and the British actor met on the set of the comedy series, and they starred in a must-see musical moment that involves Kylie stripping Sasse in a super-sassy performance at a gay bar called The Enchanted Forest.
Kylie Minogue officially announced her engagement to Joshua Sasse in the Daily Telegraph. She and the actor have been dating since last September, and People reports that Kylie was first spotted wearing her engagement ring in January (it makes the Jewel of Valencia look like a chunk of cheap plastic).
According to the Sun, Sasse proposed to Minogue during the Christmas holidays while they were on a Swiss skiing trip.
Much ado is being made about Minogue and Sasse’s age difference—the 47-year-old “Sexercise” singer has lived almost two decades longer than her 28-year-old fiancé. However, Kylie Minogue looks like she swiped an age reversal potion while she was visiting the magical world of Galavant, and the confident star knows that she doesn’t look too old for her much-younger man. During an interview with an Australian radio station, she explained why the age difference doesn’t bother her.
“I think the general consensus is, we kind of look right together. So even though on paper it might not look right, it just is right. He is an absolutely brilliant, brilliant guy. And even if I try and act cool and natural, it’s written all over my face that I am very happy.”
In Galavant, pop princess Kylie plays the queen of a gay bar called The Enchanted Forest. When Josh Sasse’s titular knight character sashays into her club, the queen decides that she doesn’t want him to leave. Kylie Minogue serenades her captive with a song titled “Off with His Shirt,” which sounds a bit like “It’s Raining Men.” However, Kylie’s queen only has eyes for one guy, and she just wants his medieval chest hair to rain down on her bar. Finding Prince Charming hasn’t been easy for Minogue—she had to kiss a few famous frogs before she found him, but at least those frogs were easy on the eye. According to the Express, the “Love At First Sight” singer’s past loves include rocker Lenny Kravitz and Halle Berry’s ex, actor Olivier Martinez. Kylie and Olivier dated for five years, and he supported her after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
Minogue thought that Andrés Velencoso was “the one” once upon a time, but the singer and the model split in 2013 after five years of dating. Minogue also dated late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Their relationship ended when Hutchence left her for model Helena Christensen, the ex of The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus.
Even though she’s been linked to numerous famous men, Minogue has never been married. She’s always wanted the same kind of loving marriage that her parents have, but before she met Joshua Sasse, she feared that she would never make it to the altar.
“I don’t know if I’ll be walking down the aisle one day, but I’ve never really seen it,” Minogue said about the possibility of becoming a bride.
However, now Kylie and her Galavant knight have a fairy tale wedding to plan, and the “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” singer couldn’t be happier.
“I have a love of my life. I am kind-of on cloud nine because of Mr Joshua Sasse, my beau,” Kylie said.
“People can see that we just work together. There’s birds flying around my head all the time.”
There’s no word on when Kylie Minogue and Josh Sasse plan on getting wed, but hopefully their reception includes a rousing rendition of “Off with His Shirt” and a striptease by the groom.
