Taylor Swift’s Seventh ‘1989’ Single: Rumors Fly About ‘New Romantics’

Just when you thought Taylor Swift’s 1989 era was over, there’s more to come. Rumors are swirling about the singer’s seventh and final single, which could be the fan favorite “New Romantics.”

Taylor Swift had quite the week. She opened the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on Monday night with her first live performance of “Out of the Woods.” Swift, 26, then picked up three awards, including Album of the Year. Some would think that she would be happy to close the Grammys on a high note.

But not just yet!

Many fans assumed that “Out of the Woods” would be Taylor’s last single off her successful 1989 album. But new reports are hinting that the singer-songwriter may release a seventh single from her album.

Cleveland pop radio DJ Java Joel Murphy took to Twitter to reveal that Swift will release the track “New Romantics” as her next single.

Of course, Taylor Swift’s fans wanted to know where he got his information, but he stuck to his claims.

According to HeadlinePlanet, the new single will come to pop radio as soon as this coming Tuesday. Pop stations such as 92.3 AMP and San Francisco’s 99.7 NOW will be playing the new song.

Taylor Swift has already released the following: “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Out of the Woods.” The rumored single “New Romantics” is only available on the Target deluxe edition of Swift’s 1989 album. It accompanies the fellow deluxe track “Wonderland,” which charted when it was released for digital purchase, but “New Romantics” has generated more buzz and hype since it’s quickly become a fan favorite.

It’s likely that the final single will become a tour video instead of a live action video. “Fearless,” “Sparks Fly,” and “Red” were Taylor’s final singles off her previous albums, and were released as tour videos.

Just days after her three Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift added a new statue to her mantel. She submitted a prerecorded acceptance video that was shared at the 2016 NME Awards ceremony, held in the O2 Academy in Brixton, south London.

“Hey, guys. It’s Taylor. I wanted to thank you for voting me NME International Solo Artist. I got the award in the mail, and I gotta be honest with you about this: When you first open up the box, this feels a little aggressive.”

Swift then pulled out the giant bronzed middle finger award for everyone to see.

“Then you get used to it. You put in on the shelf like, you know what, I kind of like it. It’s like of like, LOL. First impressions were a little weird here, but now I understand that this is actually like a strange compliment.”

Taylor Swift had more to say in her other acceptance speech during the Grammys. She hit back at Kanye West who dissed the singer in his new track “Famous,” in which he raps about Swift owing him sex since he claims he’s responsible for her career.

“I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around, and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
