Chloe Grace Moretz Stumps For This Candidate In The 2016 Presidential Race

Chloe Grace Moretz, of films such as Dark Shadows, If I Stay, and currently The 5th Wave, has officially entered the political sphere as a celebrity face to help bring in the votes for a certain democratic candidate. Moretz, who supported Hillary Clinton when she ran in 2008, is now hitting the college campuses to push for a Hillary Clinton 2016 Democratic presidential primary and general election win. According to Yahoo Politics, Chloe Grace Moretz was at the University of Nevada stumping for Mrs. Clinton’s 2016 run. Moretz stated that it wasn’t enough to say “It’s time for Hillary” to become president.

“I think we can all sit back and say, ‘Yeah, you know it’s time for Hillary to be president, it’s going to happen no matter what. But it doesn’t work that way. We have to go out there, we have to use our voice and our vote.”

Ironically, it was Hillary Clinton supporter Robert DeNiro that once stated that “I think that she’s paid her dues” and “she has earned the right to be president and the head of the country.” Chloe Grace Moretz joins Katy Perry, America Ferrara, and Lena Dunham in a bid to bring young women to Hillary Clinton’s camp, despite polls that suggest many of them are no longer with her. CNN reported that, coming out of the 2016 New Hampshire primary, Clinton was overwhelmingly being bested by her competitor. With a 83 to 16 percent advantage, Bernie Sander is crushing Hillary Clinton in the 18 to 29 demographic that Moretz is speaking to.

Moretz certainly has the celebrity power, as many were nervously clamoring to get a selfie with the young Hillary Clinton supporter, but it seemed unclear if the message was sticking. Moretz could not understand the overwhelming support for Sanders over Clinton, but likened the issue to “frightened feminists.”

“I think that there’s a lot of young women who are terrified of being feminists. Young women are afraid to stand up for who [they] are because we still live in a world in which it’s not OK for us to be young, powerful, strong, well-spoken, educated young women. And that’s why we need Hillary in office.”

Chloe Grace Moretz empathized with the view she spoke of, and feels judged by men she goes out with for her having “incredibly strong opinions.”

“You know, I go on dates with guys and a lot of them are mainly terrified of me because I have incredibly strong opinions on many things,” she said. “I have a very strong stance on certain subjects, and if I was a man no one would question it, they would say, ‘Wow he’s a go-getter.'”

Chloe Grace Moretz took this political break to help Hillary Clinton clinch the 2016 Democratic primary win, despite having a hefty film schedule. Moretz has The 5th Wave just out, Neighbors 2, November Criminals, and two other productions to round her 2016 filming schedule, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite young celebrities like Chloe Grace Moretz pushing Hillary Clinton, popular like-minded Democrats did not seem to be with her from the beginning. The Inquisitr reported last April that De Blasio and others were either not supporting Clinton, or waiting to see whom else was running.

In 2008, Lena Dunham was Hillary Clinton’s celebrity face, when she recorded a video about voting like your “lady parts depended on it,” as she spoke to fellow Democratic women about abortion. Clinton has never specifically supported either Moretz or Dunham’s ideas.
