Shailene Woodley Spotted Holding Hands With A ‘Shameless’ Star, Could The ‘Divergent’ Star Have A New Lady Love In Her Life?

Shailene Woodley may have found herself a new girlfriend. The Divergent star was spotted in New Orleans over the Valentine’s Day holiday relaxing with a few of her close friends. While things appeared like a typical friendly get together on the surface, her interactions with a mysterious lady friend has sparked rumors of a potential new romance.

In photos released by Perez Hilton, Woodley is seen holding hands with one of her girlfriends while walking through the famed city. The pair held hands throughout their venture into the city, which included stopping for a musical street performance in the French Quarter.

Although the identity of the mysterious friend was unknown at the time, Just Jared is reporting that it is none other than Isidora Goreshter. Goreshter is well known for her part in Shameless and was also spotted with Woodley a few days after their stroll through New Orleans.

The news of a potential girlfriend may come as a disappointment for many Divergent fans, especially those who wanted to see Woodley get together with her co-star Theo James. Considering the recent sighting, and the fact that James is currently engaged to Ruth Kearney, fans might be holding out a long time before anything happens between James and Woodley.

Meanwhile, it is not all that surprising that Woodley might be dating a female friend. After all, in a 2014 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Woodley opened up about her sexuality and revealed that she does not look at gender as being a determining factor in her relationships.

“I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are,” she explained to the outlet.

According to Hollywood Life, Woodley’s decision to come out about her sexuality is a bold move, especially considering how much she is in the spotlight with her lead role in the Divergent series. Hopefully, the actress’s take on what love really means will serve as an example for other women who deal with similar issues.

At the same time, her decision to break out of the mold of the typical Hollywood relationship is interesting considering her character in Divergent. In the movies, everyone is categorized into specific roles in society that correspond with five different labels: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite.

Shailene Woodley’s character does not fit into any of these so-called boxes. Instead, she chooses to go her own route and attempts to break free from societal norms, which makes her a divergent and a target for the government.

Like her character on the big screen, Woodley’s life follows a similar, though less dramatic, road. Instead of following the usual and traditional dynamics of a relationship, Woodley has chosen to be herself without caring what others might think.

This commonality with her character is something Woodley expressed during an interview with The Daily Beast. When asked about what she likes about her character, Tris, Woodley revealed that it is her willingness to risk herself for the good of others that attracted her to the role.

“The one thing I really loved about Divergent is that Tris is a heroine and fights for what she believes in, is passionate about it, and is willing to risk her life for the greater good of humanity,” she explained.

That being said, neither Woodley nor Goreshter have addressed their budding relationship, making it difficult to determine if the two are just friends or romantically involved. Either way, fans are definitely going to keep a close eye on the situation as more information is released in the coming weeks.
