Perrie Edwards ‘More Fun’ Since Zayn Malik Split, Say Little Mix Bandmates

Perrie Edwards’ Little Mix bandmates are claiming that Perrie is now “more fun” since splitting with fiancée and former One Direction band member Zayn Malik last year.

Edwards’ Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson made the admission in a new interview with the Daily Mail earlier this week, where she admitted that Perrie rarely used to go out while she was in a relationship with Zayn Malik.

“Perrie used to never come out. She’d be a bit of a bore… No offence,” Jesy said of Zayn’s former fiancée in the new interview, adding that she would “sleep a lot and stay on the bus and she’d get really tired after shows, which is fair dos.”

But it sounds like all that’s changed since Edwards and Malik parted ways and ended their engagement several months ago, as Perrie’s bandmate revealed that Zayn’s ex “wants to come out and party” now that she’s enjoying the single life without a ring on her finger.

“We do [get a bit drunk], especially when we haven’t got a new show the next day we do because it’s just fun,” Nelson joked of the Little Mix ladies, made up of herself, Perrie, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

But while it sounds like Perrie Edwards is getting over her break-up from Zayn Malik with a little well-deserved partying, Malik appears to be putting his feelings about the split into song.

Zayn dropped his newest single, titled “It’s You,” on February 17, which many sources are speculating is about Malik and Perry’s August 2015 split.

Malik debuted the song in his first live solo performance since leaving One Direction last year during an appearance on the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday, after which the Sun revealed Zayn’s newest solo single contained some pretty scathing lyrics allegedly aimed at Edwards.

“She got her own reason for talking to me / She don’t give a f*** about what I need / And I can’t tell you why / Because my brain can’t equate it,” Zayn sings in the sure to be hit according to a new report by the Sun. “Tell me your lies / Because I just can’t face it… Could it be that it’s a lesson? / That I never had to learn / I looked at it like a blessing / And now it’s just a curse.”

Malik most recently opened up about the song in an interview with Beats One’s Zane Lowe, where Zayn appeared to confirm that the song is, in fact, about his and Perrie’s break-up.

“There’s a song on the record called ‘It’s You,’ which is to me I can tell a real centre-piece for the album. Vocally certainly,” Zane Low revealed on the Beats One show last month, telling Zayn, “It’s about the break-up of your relationship, clearly.”

Although Malik did not confirm or deny the reports that the song was about his past relationship in the interview, Zayn did tell the Beats One host at the time that “there’s always a fine line” when it comes to how much of his personal life he puts into a song.

“I just felt like I needed to put myself out there a bit on that because it was a form of therapy for me,” Zayn said in the interview, adding that putting his emotions into music following his split with Perrie and departure from One Direction helped him “get through some s**t.”

“So if it can help someone else at that time, then that’s cool,” Zayn Malik added.

Do you think Zayn Malik’s new single “It’s You” is about his break-up with Perrie Edwards?
