Despite the Duggar family’s assertions to the contrary, it seems the famous family is indeed going to be back on air. After the success of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which caught up with Jessa Duggar and her sister Jill following the Josh Duggar scandals, rumors surfaced TLC was planning a new series with the family. Several eye witnesses have reported sightings of a camera crew following the Duggar clan around their hometown of Springdale, Arkansas.
Although the Duggar family took to their blog to refute claims there will be a new television show, they’ve been spotted several times with a camera crew. Most recently, In Touch magazine reported that Joy-Anna, the 18-year-old daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, was followed by a film crew as she shopped at a Harps food store near her home. Joy-Anna was accompanied by her friend, party-planner Sierra Jo Dominguez.
An eyewitness reported that the “camera crew was with them when they arrived in the parking lot,” while a second camera man “was waiting for them inside the supermarket.”
The insider revealed that Joy-Anna Duggar and her friend “were shopping for supplies for a party Sierra was organizing.” Although the witness could not confirm the camera crew belonged to TLC, the source seemed to think it might indicate a new series since “[t]he film crew included one of the people who used to film for 19 Kids and Counting.”
Even though Jim Bob and Michelle, through the Duggar Family Blog, deny any new shows are in the works, the photographs that In Touch published report something quite different. A source revealed to In Touch that the success of Jill & Jessa: Counting On was largely due to America’s interest in Jill and Jessa Duggar.
Jim Bob and Michelle “are smart enough to know that the only way they could win back support was through their children.”
The rumors of a new Duggar series began when reports surfaced on the Facebook group “Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray” that revealed a camera crew was spotted following Jana Duggar, her sister Jinger, and her sister-in-law Anna around a lumberyard near the family’s home. Anna Duggar is the wife of fallen reality star Josh Duggar. The group was reportedly purchasing lumber to build a tree house, but more telling was the camera crew in tow.
The new series is rumored to focus on Jana Duggar, the “Cinderella” of the Duggar family, who, at 26-years-old, is one of the eldest children to not yet be married with children. According to production insiders, the new series will tell the story of Jana trying to find love as a single, conservative Christian.
After the stream of Josh Duggar scandals last year, the famous family has struggled to regain its footing in the mainstream television environment. Despite the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting last year following reports that Josh Duggar molested several young girls when he was 14-years-old, America is still largely interested in the family.
Based on that feedback, TLC began working on a three-part series with Jill and Jessa Duggar, which turned into Jill And Jessa: Counting On. The series premiered to high ratings, solidifying TLC’s suspicions that there is still an audience for the Duggars. What is not clear is why the Duggar family is denying a new series is in the works.
While a new series seems inevitable, Jessa Duggar is contending with a new issue. According to the Hollywood Gossip, Jessa and some of her sisters have appeared on a site that, although not being a sex site, is definitely not safe for work. According to the Hollywood Gossip, Jill and >Jessa Duggar have turned up on a – and are quite popular.
The website Wikifeet is a meeting place for people with foot fetishes to ogle the feet of famous celebrities, including Jill and Jessa Duggar. One commentator said that Jessa Duggar has “[g]orgeous feet. Sublime harmony of the toes. I loved it, perfect!”
The Duggar family has not yet addressed the new, unwanted attention yet on their own blog.
