Kendall Jenner Launches Custom Eye Shadow Palette On Heels Of Kylie’s Lip Kit Success

Kendall Jenner is following in her sisters’ footsteps. The 20-year-old daughter of Caitlyn and Kris Jenner is getting into the cosmetics game with a major makeup launch. Kendall has partnered with Estee Lauder to create a custom eyeshadow palette, and get a piece of the cosmetics craze that has made her sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner filthy rich. Kendall Jenner’s custom eyeshadow palette, called Estee Edit, will be available exclusively through Estee Lauder, according to People.

While Kendall Jenner was announced as the face of Estee Lauder in 2014, and has been modeling for the cosmetics giant since 2015, this is her first custom Estee eye shadow product. (The company has a signature Kendall lipstick shade, Restless.) The new palette features several of Kendall’s favorite matte and shiny eye shadow hues, as well as some club-worthy black-light-activated and glow-in-the-dark options. No doubt about it, her new line is sure to stand out.

In an interview with Refinery29, Kendall talked about her favorite eyeshadow trends, which pretty much explains all of the warm shades in her palette.

For me, it’s always the tans or light browns that I blaze through. The pastels are ALWAYS left behind.

Jenner also admitted to a few eyeliner faux pas that she has been guilty of, and she joked about her fantasy makeup product.

“Okay, so go with me on this but… wouldn’t it be sort of neat to have a mask that has the full makeup look on it, and all you got to do is stick it to your face and voilà! You’re ready to go!”

Of course, it makes sense that Kendall Jenner went with an eye shadow palette for her first makeup product. In an interview posted on the Estee Lauder website, she said she’s a big fan of eye makeup when it’s done the right way.

“I like a good eye. Sometimes I like a little bit of a cat-eye, or a wing is nice. And lots of mascara. I love mascara.”

Kendall revealed that while doesn’t always do her own makeup (yes, she has people for that), she is getting better at doing her own. Jenner admitted that she carefully watches her makeup artists as they perform their magic on her, and she says she is a visual learner.

Kendall Jenner’s new eyeshadow endeavor comes just a few months after her sister, Kylie, broke the internet (OK, broke her own website) with a lip kit launch. Kylie’s $29 pout-perfecting kits, sold exclusively on the website LipKitByKylie.com, were sold out less than an hour after her launch in November. The younger Jenner sister apologized to fans who missed out on the initial stock and she later revealed that her website crashed at one point during the launch. Disappointed fans headed to eBay, where Jenner’s sold out Lip Kits were being hocked for as much as $1,500 each.

After the success of her Lip Kit line, Kylie told Marie Claire that she hopes to expand her makeup offerings to a full line. But it sounds like that project will be a while in the making, so luckily, her sister, Kendall, already has the eyeshadow shades covered.

“I definitely want to do a whole makeup line eventually, but right now I’m focusing on lips until I figure out how and when.”

Kendall Jenner’s Estee Edit eye shadow palette will retail at $48 and will be available at Estee Lauder counters and Sephora stores starting March 15.
