Lisa Vanderpump may be questioning Kim Richards’ sobriety and mental health on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but it sounds like she’s tired of hearing other people talking about it. When she was arrested, Lisa asked her husband about her former co-star’s mental health, and they had a conversation in their home. The conversation was filmed for the world to see. However, Vanderpump doesn’t like it when her co-stars talk about Kim’s problems for the world to see, including judging her sobriety. According to a new E! Online report, Lisa Vanderpump is now revealing that she’s truly sad about what’s happened to Richards, and she wants people to give her a break.
“I’ve texted her backwards and forwards and she’s been very sweet,” Vanderpump told E! Online, revealing that she has tried to be there for Kim after losing her ex-husband.
Richards announced on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that her ex-husband Monty Brinson had been diagnosed with cancer. He battled the disease for quite some time before losing his battle earlier this year. Monty was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed away. And maybe Vanderpump is learning about her personal struggles, because she really wants to be there for her former co-star. Vanderpump is revealing that she’s very protective of her.
“She’s so lovely and the problems that she’s kind of had, it’s been very difficult for her, I would imagine,” Vanderpump told E! Online, adding, “But you know what, really, I hate? It’s now if I see the show and I see people being negative about her, I hate that.”
And it sounds like Richards is receptive to Lisa’s efforts, as both Lisa and Ken Todd were invited to Brinson’s memorial service. Unfortunately, they were unable to attend. And it makes sense that Lisa Vanderpump would be protective of Richards, as she’s battled alcohol and drug abuse for the past couple of years. Many feared that she would relapse due to Monty’s death. But she revealed herself that “everything is good” last October, and her sister Kyle Richards told E! Online that “Kim is doing really well” just last month. And Lisa herself is now convinced that Kim will stay sober, adding that she’s “1,000 percent sure.”
Lisa Vanderpump was there at the lunch at Kathryn Edwards’ home when Kim’s name was brought up. Half of the housewives experienced the drama, the substance abuse, and the drinking that Richards did last year. Lisa Rinna called Kim a “f**king lunatic” on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Rinna herself reveals that she has personal experience with substance abuse on both sides of her family, according to Us Weekly.
Yesterday I said goodbye to best the friend I've ever had in my life.. Monty was an amazing person with an amazing soul … We shared over 30 years of Love & Happiness and brought a beautiful daughter into world. I am so grateful for all that we shared. I know we will be together again one day????I love you Monty❤️ my angel????in heaven .. and I know that we be together again one day. I will carry you in my heart always my love❤️…until then , may you rest in peace ????????
And maybe it was Rinna’s reaction to Kim that made Vanderpump speak out. While Richards has struggled with her own troubles, Lisa seems more understanding as to her reactions. Rinna, on the other hand, acts as if her former co-star is a threat to her. And this doesn’t sit well with Vanderpump. As she told E! News, she doesn’t like it when people speak negatively of her former co-star.
Kim isn’t filming this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s never really shared the reason why she decided to step back, but Brandi Glanville also quit last season. The two are close friends, and maybe she felt she couldn’t film without a good friend. But it sounds like she may have a good friend in Lisa Vanderpump.
What do you think of Lisa Vanderpump’s comments about Kim? Are you surprised that she’s now defending her former co-star?
