Amy Schumer’s close relationship with Jennifer Lawrence has ended. Well, that’s only if you believe the tabloids. Gossip Cop quotes what they believe to be an untrue story from the print edition of Star.
“That allegation can be found in the new issue of Star, which claims Schumer is always choosing her new beau over her bestie. A so-called ‘insider’ is quoted as saying, ‘Before Ben came along, Amy and Jen were like sisters, but Amy basically dropped her. Jen couldn’t believe it.'”
Gossip Cop adds that the magazine alleges that Amy is so obsessed with her new “hunky carpenter boyfriend” that she’s ignoring both her friendships and her new project about buddy flight attendees with Jennifer Lawrence. Then, the gossip-busting site reveals that this whole story was completely made up.
“And Gossip Cop would suggest the gossip rag should take Fact-Checking 101, considering it couldn’t even get the basic plot details of their film correct, and fails to mention Schumer’s own sister was a third co-writer. It’s NOT a ‘buddy comedy,’ but a comedy about sisters, one of whom has a lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant,” the article continues.
It doesn’t appear that Schumer meant too much harm. Still, Taylor Swift’s fans went after her on Twitter.
It seems as if Taylor Swift’s fans are angry because they believe Amy Schumer, who has spoken out against body shaming, is doing the same to Swift. Schumer had a comedic answer for that accusation.
Most commenting after the picture think that it’s not only funny, but poignant because Amy Schumer is a comedian — a profession that has come under fire recently, especially due to extreme political correctness. However, this isn’t the only controversy Ms. Schumer has experienced recently. According to People, Amy Schumer was accused of stealing jokes from Kathleen Madigan, Wendy Liebman, Tammy Pescatelli, and the late Patrice O’Neal.
“On my life, I have never and would never steal a joke. I’m getting accused of stealing jokes and I wanted to come and talk to you about it and clear my name because I would never ever do that and never have,” Schumer said, according to the article. However, some people on Twitter don’t agree.
Of course, Amy Schumer isn’t the only one accused of stealing jokes recently; last October, The Inquisitr reported that Trevor Noah was accused of doing the same. Despite all the controversy, it’s doubtful that Amy Schumer will do anything but thrive.
