‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Richonne is Real! Rick And Michonne Romance Will Become Reality In Season 6, Episode 10

Michonne proved herself one of the most important characters of The Walking Dead after saving Rick and Carl in Season 6, Episode 9, “No Way Out.” Now TWD fans are putting on the pressure to make a romance between Rick and Michonne a reality. Now that Jessie is out of the way, will Rick turn to Michonne for comfort? This has been one of the most asked-about pairings aside from Carol and Daryl or possibly even Beth and Daryl. Let’s hope that the Walking Dead writers get this one right and we can see Rick and Michonne become a couple before the end of Season 6.

Michonne showed up at the end of Season 2 and was a major part of Season 3 and beyond on The Walking Dead. Michonne and Carl became very close when she helped him overcome the loss of his mom and cope with Rick’s struggles with reality and losing Lori as well. Michonne is part of the Grimes family now, and many fans are hoping she’ll move from her close aunt/sister role into more of a mother figure for Carl and a romantic interest for Rick.

[Warning: The are a few Walking Dead spoilers ahead]

Michonne cemented herself as one of the most important cast members and an integral part of Rick Grimes’ life when she speared Ron with her Katana in Episode 9 when it became clear that he intended to shoot Rick for cutting off Jessie’s arm and freeing Carl. Rick hade to make a choice in that instant, and Jessie was already bitten. Naturally, he would choose his son, but his girlfriend was a goner anyway. Michonne slayed Ron without hesitation, and it seemed like she was ready for Rick’s woman and her whiny kids to make their way out of her life.

In the upcoming episode of The Walking Dead, Rick and Daryl go on a supply run when Alexandria starts to run out of some important goods. In Season 6, Episode 10, titled “The Next World,” we are expecting the arrival of Jesus and his Hilltop Community.

TV Guide says of the upcoming TWD episode, “A seemingly simple scavenging run proves to be very tricky when the group isn’t the only one vying for an unexpected supply goldmine.”

While we already know in the comics that Jesus becomes a great advisor to Rick, for now, his group has to be treated as a threat, and we know there are certainly some very threatening humans out there, nevermind the walkers. Will the danger in this supply run help Rick and Michonne to grow closer?

Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne, recently talked about the most recent TWD episode with Entertainment Weekly. In the interview, she described Michonne’s “sheer panic” at the thought of losing Rick and Carl.

“Running through the walkers with Rick carrying Carl, it was just so painful and intense. And him lying there and Rick running out the door and Michonne being caught in a panic.”

Danai goes on to talk about how Michonne rarely ever panics. That is true, and for several seasons, we had to wonder why nothing seemed to rattle Michonne. Now, when Michonne was faced with the possibility of losing the most important people to her again (after losing her own family and then Andrea), she seemed to nearly lose her mind. Michonne even ran outside to help Rick battle a horde of walkers that they would never have risked their lives on before but not before making sure Carl was stitched up and hopefully on the mend.

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman said that he is pulling out all the stops for season 6. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kirkman admitted that season 6 is usually when a show starts to wind down and fans tend to lose interest. He doesn’t want that for The Walking Dead and that’s why the action and the pace of the AMC hit have been turned up to full speed.

Kirkman said in the THR interview, “This is a Rick who is supercharged. He’s inspired by these events that have happened. We’ve seen many evolutions and changes to Rick. This is a guy who, for the first time in the show, really has it together in this moment.”

Do you think in that significant change, Rick will realize that Michonne is just as protective as Carl as he is and that she is family? Fans really hope that means there will finally be a love connection between Rick and Michonne.

It’s been a long time coming, and Michonne certainly deserves Rick a lot more than Jessie did. Not to mention that Michonne is totally single and their hookup would be drama-free. She already has bonded with Carl and has proved she would kill without missing a beat for either of them. Do you think Michonne and Rick should or will take their relationship further and become romantic in Season 6? It’s something fans have wanted for the TWD characters for several seasons now and would certainly be an interesting arc for Rick and Michonne.

**UPDATE** It looks like The Walking Dead fans are getting their wish for Rick and Michonne to finally get together as a couple. A Facebook group known for dropping some major TWD spoilers claims that Rick and Michonne are not only going to get romantic, they will go all the way in season 6, episode 10. The spoiler claims that Rick and Michonne will get caught in bed together by newcomer Jesus, who also makes his debut in “The Next World.” How excited are you to find out that Rick and Michonne are getting together to form the super couple Richonne?
