Mariah Carey’s Wedding Plans Underway

Mariah Carey and James Packer recently celebrated Valentine’s Day together like countless other couples around the world. But for Mariah Carey and her fiancé, this Valentine’s Day had a special significance, as it was their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple.

Daily Mail reports that the Australian billionaire proposed to Mariah Carey only three weeks prior to Valentine’s Day, on January 21, 2015, while the pair were in New York. The proposal came after only eight months of dating.

As special as this Valentine’s Day was for Mariah Carey, it also happened to be just another work day for her. As part of her contract to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Mariah Carey was scheduled to perform on Valentine’s Day evening. Given the significance of the event for the couple, though, James Packer made sure to be there with Mariah Carey during her performance.

Mariah Carey shared a photo to her Instagram account showing herself and her fiancé sharing a kiss on Valentine’s Day, though many people have since commented that the pair look awkward and uncomfortable during their kiss.

Daily Mail noted that Mariah Carey’s lips are not quite touching James Packer’s in the photo, and that although he has his hands on Mariah Carey’s hips, she isn’t touching him. On the other hand, there are those who have commented that a photo only shows one snapshot in time, and it may have unfortunately been taken in the moment before the kiss really began. In any event, surely Mariah Carey would not have posted the photo on her Instagram page if she was at all concerned with what it depicted.

Mariah Carey had had several LaBourjoisie outfits specifically designed for her Las Vegas performances, and she is seen wearing one of these outfits – a gold strapless dress with a thigh-high slit that, as Daily Mail reports, showcases her voluptuous curves in her Instagram photo.

Mariah Carey and James Packer are no stranger to marriage. Both have been married previously, and in fact, both are still currently married to other people. James Packer’s second wife, Erica, is now in a relationship with legendary musician Seal, and the pair share three children. His first marriage was to Jodhi Meares, and the marriage lasted three years and didn’t produce any children. His marriage to Erica Packer produced three children: Immanuel, Indigo, and Jackson. As for Mariah Carey, she was married to Tommy Mottola, a music producer, from 1993 to 1998, and is still married to her second husband, Nick Cannon. There are no children as a result of Mariah Carey’s first marriage. However, she and Nick Cannon share 4-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Despite the fact that both are still married to other people, Daily Mail reports in a separate article that Mariah Carey and James Packer have their wedding plans well underway.

The Daily Mail reports that although it was rumoured that Mariah Carey’s wedding would take place at her family mansion in the Bahamas, the wedding will actually take place in Australia, on a private retreat on Hayman Island near the Great Barrier Reef. It seems that the Hayman Island location was chosen in part because the pair will be able to make use of James Packer’s private planes to shuttle wedding guests to and from the party.

It was also previously reported that Mariah Carey was in the midst of planning an extravagant wedding involving fireworks, carnival rides, elephants, and even a mermaid statue of herself, but it is not yet known whether these plans will be carried forward to the Hayman Island destination.

Following their wedding, Mariah Carey plans to used in an exclusive gated community in Calabasas, California, known as The Oaks. It is reported that her 4-year-old twins will live with them in their new leased luxury mansion.
