‘Bachelor’ 2016 Spoilers: Ben Higgins May Have Changed His Mind After Final Rose, Picking JoJo Instead
The Bachelor may be taking an unexpected turn, with spoilers indicating that Ben Higgins may have changed his mind after the final rose and could be making a play for the woman he rejected at the end.

The 2016 season of The Bachelor is rapidly winding down, with Ben Higgins just narrowing down the field during a visit to his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. He paid particular attention to the two women identified as finalists, taking Lauren to a youth center where they played basketball with some local kids and met Indiana Pacers Paul George and George Hill. Later Ben took JoJo to Wrigley Field, where they spent a romantic dinner in center field.
Celeb Dirty Laundry reported the following.
“Lauren Bushnell knew what she was signing up for when she joined The Bachelor – but that doesn’t make it any easier when you learn that your fiancé nearly dumped you and chose another woman, and is still devastated that he let her go.”
“Sources close to the production say that Lauren had no idea how close she was to almost not receiving a Neil Lane engagement ring, she thought that Ben Higgins was basically going through the motions of the show and only had eyes for her.”
“Between Lauren’s insecurities and jealousy and Ben’s feelings for Jojo Fletcher – The Bachelor and his Bachelor winner’s engagement is off to a bumpy start. The odds of them actually getting married get slimmer and slimmer as more and more footage of The Bachelor airs on ABC.”
While unusual, this would not be entirely unprecedented. The majority of Bachelor couples have ended up splitting up, and on at least one occasion the Bachelor himself changed his mind after the final rose. In the finale of his season, Jason Mesnick proposed Melissa Rycroft but later changed course and picked Molly, the runner up.
Reality Steve has a slightly different prediction for The Bachelor‘s aftermath. While he is sticking to the prediction that Ben Higgins will pick Lauren, he also sees a future for JoJo beyond the show itself.
In a blog post from Tuesday, Reality Steve picked JoJo as one of the frontrunners to be featured on The Bachelorette next time around. Producers have a tendency to pick popular contestants from the final four of the previous Bachelor season, ones that already have a built-in fan base, so this spoiler would indicate that Ben Higgins is sticking with his decision of Lauren.
“Personally my opinion is JoJo seems like the perfect candidate for ‘Bachelorette,’ – I just don’t know how on their current shooting schedule she can get the gig,” Reality Steve wrote. “If there’s a way I’m not thinking of that some of you may have to where they can bring JoJo out to confront Ben for the first time since he dumped her, then 30 minutes later somehow announce her as ‘Bachelorette’ on the ATFR, then three days later begin filming her season, I’m all ears. I don’t see it but maybe I’m missing something.”
If The Bachelor spoilers come true and Ben Higgins does end up reversing course to pick JoJo, fans will find out fairly soon. The show’s finale airs on March 14.
