Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez To Appear In Court, She Is ‘Happy’ For Grammy Win

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez both attended the Grammy Awards last night, and while they didn’t appear to have a run-in, they soon will. On or around February 16, the former couple is scheduled to appear together in a Los Angeles court, where they will address an alleged incident from May 2012.

Last week, Gossip Extra reported news of Justin Bieber’s upcoming court appearance with Gomez, claiming the trial against him is expected to last for four days.

Three years ago, 21-year-old Justin Bieber was sued by paparazzo Jose Duran, who claimed to have been assaulted by Bieber in the parking lot of a mall in Calabasas, California. According to the photographer, he was kicked and punched by the singer after getting to close to him and Gomez after they visited a movie theater nearby.

Although Justin Bieber and Gomez reportedly got into his car without incident, Duran claimed Bieber then jumped out of the vehicle and ran towards him before allegedly delivering a kick to his stomach and punching him in the face.

As Gossip Extra explained, the trial against Justin Bieber has been postponed several times but is expected to move forward in the next several hours at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

“The last thing Selena wants to do is go to a mobbed court hearing to deal with Justin Bieber’s assault case,” a source told Hollywood Life last week, referring to the hearing scheduled for February 16.

“The whole thing is a major pain in the a**,” the source continued. “She’s busy and when she has an ounce of free time, she has a million other things she could be doing. She really resents that’s she’s even involved in this whole mess, which by the way had nothing to do with her and everything to do with [Justin Bieber].”

As for Justin Bieber and Gomez’s recent appearance at the Grammys, Justin Bieber served as a performer, while his ex-girlfriend appeared as a presenter. Then, after the show, Gomez spoke out about her former boyfriend, revealing her excitement over Justin Bieber’s Grammy win.

“I’m very happy for [Justin Bieber]. Honestly, so cool,” Gomez told Entertainment Tonight of Justin Bieber’s best dance recording win for “Where Are Ü Now,” a track on which Skrillex and Diplo are also featured. “They have such a cool energy amongst all of them to be able to create something like that. It’s really great.”

In other news involving Justin Bieber and Gomez, the pop singer recently revealed he was attempting to have his Gomez-inspired tattoo covered up.

“This is my ex-girlfriend,” Justin Bieber told GQ, via Hollywood Life, pointing to an image on his wrist, which featured Gomez with angel wings. “I kinda tried to cover her face up with some shading, but people still know.”

While Justin Bieber has no ill will toward Gomez, he is years removed from their relationship and is now involved in a non-exclusive dating relationship with 19-year-old model Hailey Baldwin, who likely doesn’t appreciate the artwork much at all.

Also in his interview with GQ, Justin Bieber spoke of his heartbreak about the end of his relationship with Gomez years ago. The singer revealed he was keeping things casual with Baldwin in order to not damage her with his behavior while he’s on tour and will surely be surrounding by women. He even noted that Baldwin could be the woman he eventually marries.
