Ashley Darby Shares Regrets: First ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Friendship Over?

Ashley Darby decided to join The Real Housewives of Potomac when she was asked, but she didn’t join the show without knowing anything about her co-stars. Ashley decided to search for her co-stars online in hopes of learning something new about them. Maybe Ashley wanted to learn about scandals, affairs, and other juicy things before she started filming with her co-stars. But her act quickly turned her into the villain of the season. According to a new Bravo report, Ashley Darby is now learning that she shouldn’t have said anything about searching for her co-stars online.

Of course, Ashley decided to tell Katie Rost about searching for her co-stars online, including Katie herself. And maybe Rost felt odd about it, because she decided to tell her Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars about Darby’s actions. And while Darby is now the villain in the group, she admits that she is very hurt herself.

“I whole-heartedly regret telling Katie what I read about Robyn. It was a sensitive topic that I should have respected, as I do not find any humor in hardship. Without knowing her situation, it’s not a topic that I should’ve broached. Having grown up in a low-income family and experienced devastation first-hand, the last thing I’d want to do is hurt anyone else in a tough spot,” Ashley Darby explains of her decision to tell Katie that she had Googled her co-stars.

As it turns out, Darby wasn’t searching for the ladies to dig up some dirt on them that she could use in the future. As it turns out, Ashley commonly searches for people online if she is about to meet them — maybe so she can refer to previous projects, businesses, and so forth.

“As a millennial, the internet is as familiar to me as my own mother. Whenever I meet prominent people and want to learn more about them I take to the all-knowing Google. I knew that the ladies of Potomac were well-known in their community, but they were rather reserved when they first met me and I hadn’t learned anything about them. So while I would’ve loved to hit them on their cellphones to chat, that option wasn’t available,” Ashley Darby points out, sharing that the searches were not done with malicious intent.

And while the ladies were quick to make Ashley Darby out to be the villain and troublemaker on the show, Ashley admits that she was actually very hurt by her friend Katie. She had no idea that her friend would turn her back on her and tell the other ladies what she had found out in confidence. And this could be the first friendship that has been ruined on The Real Housewives of Potomac.

“Out of this ordeal I learned that Katie is not quite the friend I thought she was – in no way was I making a mockery of Robyn as she told the other ladies at Charrisse’s house. In actuality, I was asking Katie’s opinion about whether she thought this affected how Robyn interacted with newcomers. We’ve had a bumpy road, but I hope Robyn and I can forage a friendship in the future,” Ashley points out, sharing that they are still working towards a better friendship.

While Darby may have learned her lesson in regards to Googling people and telling them about it, there may be a long way for her to forgive Katie.

What do you think of Ashley Darby searching for her co-stars online? Do you think she was in her right to do so, or do you think she should have waited to meet them in person to judge them?
