Selena Gomez On Taylor Swift’s Feud With Kanye West: ‘She’s Killing It’

Selena Gomez has never been one to engage in a celebrity feud, but after her long-time best friend Taylor Swift was slammed by Kanye West, she spoke out in support of her fellow pop star.

Last week, as he launched his fashion show, Yeezy Season 3, West, who previously apologized to Swift for his mic-snatching incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, slammed Swift in a just-released song, “Famous,” claiming he put Swift on the map and adding that he may sleep with her.

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have s**. Why? I made that b***h famous,” West said in the song.

In addition to liking a video posted by Swift’s brother, which featured him tossing his Yeezy Boost tennis shoes in the trash, Selena Gomez released a statement, telling a radio show that her best friend is “killing it.”

“Everybody has their own opinion,” Selena Gomez told SiriusXM at the end of last week, according to a Hollywood Life report on February 14. “At the end of the day, you can just do what you do. She’s killing it and she kind of always has been.”

After West snatched the microphone from Swift years ago, claiming Beyonce deserved the award she received, the rapper faced tons of backlash from critics, and the same goes for his latest stunt. Following Selena Gomez’s Instagram like, a number of celebrities spoke out against the rapper, including Jamie King, Gigi Hadid — who was in attendance at the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show — and Orange Is the New Black actress Ruby Rose.

On Twitter, Hadid told fans that her attendance at West’s show was in no way a statement that she agreed with his music. Rose then added that West was no friend of hers after he made such shocking claims about her friend.

On the opposite side of things, Kendall Jenner, who is also a friend of Swift, as well as Selena Gomez, was actually seen dancing to West’s Swift diss when it was played at the show, as were a number of her family members, including Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian.

In other Selena Gomez-Taylor Swift news, the former Disney actress recently spoke out about the possibility of working together on a new track. Although the two women don’t yet have anything in the works, Selena Gomez teased the idea during an interview with E! News at the end of last month.

“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, eventually, right?” Selena Gomez told the outlet during an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. “She’s my best friend. We’ll see.”

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift will both be in attendance during tonight’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and are seated side-by-side in the front row. While an awkward moment with West may be imminent, Swift will have her best friend at her side.

Another awkward moment that could potentially occur at the Grammy Awards is Selena Gomez’s possible run-in with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Although Bieber doesn’t appear to be seated near his former girlfriend, he is scheduled to perform, and when he does, Selena Gomez will be directly below him.

While Selena Gomez and Swift have been close for years, Swift has never been a fan of Bieber and was once caught sticking her tongue out after Selena Gomez greeted the singer backstage at an awards show years ago.
