Game of Thrones Season 6 is drawing nearer, and HBO has released a teaser trailer and some photos that give us a glimpse at what’s to come. The new trailer is titled “Hall of Faces Tease,” and includes the faces of characters both alive and dead. It’s eerie, creepy, and dark. Check it out below.

Game of Thrones Season 5 introduced us to the Hall of Faces. Located in a great hall within the House of Black and White, it contains the skinned faces of the dead, which the Faceless Men use in combination with magic spells to camouflage themselves. In the new Game of Thrones Season 6 trailer, we see the faces of some who were living at the end of Season 5 and some who were not. Can we assume that everyone whose face appears in this teaser trailer dies in Season 6 of Game of Thrones? If that is the case, we are going to lose some major characters this year. Among those characters are Jon Snow (whose death has been the subject of many discussions), Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, and Bran Stark. And regarding Jon Snow’s face in the hall, could that explain the insistence of Kit Harington himself that Snow is dead, despite the fact that there have been reported sightings of him on set in full costume for the new season of Game of Thrones? Then there is his voice in the trailer as he says, “The long night is coming, and the dead come with it.” Does his mean he will live again? Does it mean that some of the dead pictured in the trailer will live again? Does it confirm the rumors of Catelyn Stark returning as an undead character?

HBO released a series of Game of Thrones photos a few days before the trailer that provides Season 6 spoilers. Some of them confirm the continuation of situations we saw last year. Arya is blind and training to be an assassin. Tyrion is in Meereen with Varys. Margaery Tyrell is still imprisoned. But, as noted by Express, it also includes a few Game of Thrones spoilers. Among them is a photo of Cersei and Jaime at King’s Landing together, suggesting they may reunite, perhaps as a result of the murder of their daughter, Myrcella. Given the extent to which each of them has changed since they were last together, however, a happily-ever-after future is far from a sure thing for these two.

Another Game of Thrones spoiler provided by the photos is related to Sansa and Theon. They are pictured alive and well, so they apparently survived their great jump from the walls of Winterfell. Their location, however, is not clear. There is also a photo of Bran Stark standing in the Winterfell courtyard with the Three-Eyed Raven (played in Game of Thrones Season 6 by Max Von Sydow), which seems to confirm, as reported by Vanity Fair, that visions and flashbacks will be big this year on Game of Thrones, and will likely include a great deal of Ned Stark. It also confirms that Bran is on his own two feet!
