Tyra Banks And Erik Asla Share First Picture Of Their Son York And It’s Beautiful

Tyra Banks is enjoying her first Valentine’s Day as a mother, and she posted a beautiful picture of her son to celebrate. The model turned mogul posted the picture on her Instagram page with the following caption.

“This is the happiest Valentine’s Day of my life.York, Daddy @erikasla and I send you so much love.”

Banks look beautiful in the picture as she posed with her son wrapped with a blanket around her. As Us Weekly reports, Tyra and her boyfriend Erik Asla welcomed little baby York via a surrogate in late January.

Bank, 42, announced the news to her fans via a post on Instagram of a baby’s hat.

“The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here,” she wrote in the caption of that photo. “He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone.”

Tyra, who struggled to conceive naturally added, “York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

Erik Asla and Tyra Banks have been together for two years. According to Yahoo News, last year on Tyra’s talk show, The Fab Life, he revealed all of the struggle he has had with conceiving a child.

As The Daily Mail reports, Tyra confessed that he had been undergoing IVF treatments and cried when he reflected on the fact that social media bullies kept asking her when she was going to have a baby.

“I’m so tired of seeing on my social media, ‘why don’t you have kids, why don’t you have kids?’ ‘You don’t know, you don’t know what I’m going through. You have no idea,” Banks said.

She then talked about how she had always dreamt of always having a large family, but it just never happened.

“For a long time, it was so funny, I was 23-years-old, I used to tell myself ‘in three years I’m going to have kids,'” she said. “Then I turned 24, ‘in three years I’m going to have kids.’ Every single year I just kept saying that. And then after a while it’s like, now I want to, it’s not so easy.”

As Yahoo News reports, Chrissy Teigen was her co-host that day and she also admitted that she had had trouble conceiving as well. Chrissy and her huband John Legend later went public with the news that they were about to have their first child.

The America’s Next Top Model host has always been very focused on her career and building her media empire. But she has always talked about how much she wants to be a mother as well.

“I won’t be happy if I’m not a mother,” Tyra Banks told Harper’s Bazaar Singapore in 2012.

And now she is.

Tyra’s boyfriend, Erik Alsa shared the photo of Tyra and York on his Instagram page as well. He captioned it, “Mother and son.”

“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik.” Tyra told People Magazine after her son was born.

“As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms.”
