Drake’s OVO Sound Radio Dedicates Episode To Kanye West, Fans Upset Over No ‘TLOP’ Collaboration

Drake and Kanye West have been teasing the idea of a musical collaboration since last year, but it looks like the duo’s rumored collaboration isn’t coming anytime soon.

Last year, Kanye West first ignited rumors of a possible collaboration with Drake after he revealed to The Breakfast Club that he and the Toronto rapper were interested in releasing a collaborative album titled Wolves.

However, with no word regarding the status of Drake and Kanye’s plans to record a collaborative album together and West’s latest release, The Life of Pablo, containing no feature from Drake, it seems that fans won’t be getting their hands on the duo’s long-awaited Wolves album in the near future.

On Saturday, Drake’s OVO crew announced their plans to dedicate February 13’s episode of OVO Sound Radio to Kanye West just hours ahead of the release of West’s TLOP, leading some fans to speculate that the duo’s highly anticipated collaboration may make its debut on the Apple Music radio program.

Speaking to The Fader, Oliver El-Khatib explained his decision to dedicate the radio show’s 15th episode to West, revealing, “This is a tribute to Kanye West songs and production that I think have shaped the game today.”

The rumors only continued to escalate after OVO Sound tweeted out a promotional image for Saturday’s episode that featured a nod to West’s GOOD record label.

Despite the speculation, OVO Sound Radio’s new episode came and went with no sign of a new Drake and Kanye collaboration, although the show did feature West’s most recent release, “30 Hours,” at the end of the broadcast.

The hopes of a Kanye and Drake collab only continued to diminish after the rapper released his highly anticipated The Life of Pablo album following his appearance on Saturday Night Live last night, which contained no feature from Drake despite heavy speculation that the “Hotline Bling” rapper would appear on the project.

While Drake may not have appeared as a feature on West’s new album, fans did point out that Drake was credited as a composer on TLOP‘s tracks “Facts” and “30 Hours,” which may explain last month’s rumors suggesting that Kanye and Drake were working in the studio together.

With Drake’s Views From The 6 album expected to drop in April, it’s still a possibility that a collaboration with Kanye West may appear on the Toronto rapper’s fourth studio album.

Young Thug recently weighed-in on the hype surrounding Drake and West’s anticipated collaboration during a segment on Periscope last week, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

According to one fan, Young Thug announced that “Drake and Kanye will feature on Slime Season 4,” noting that the rapper is “Talking about it on Periscope rn…confirmed coming next week SLIME SEASON 3….”

While neither Kanye West nor Drake have given an update on their supposed collaboration, West previously explained to The Breakfast Club that he and Drake had already begun trading beats back and forth after discussing the possibility of a collaborative album, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

“I asked him [Drake] and we talked about it, and he said yeah and we was gunna do it. And actually, he was sending beats back and forth, I got this one record with Young Thug that I think we gunna put on Rihanna’s album,” Kanye West explained, noting that “it might happen ’cause I threw it out here.”

Do you think Kanye West and Drake will release a collaboration in the near future?
