Kanye West Rocked A Pastel T-Shirt Honoring His Late Mother And Robert Kardashian Sr. At Yeezy Season 3 Launch

Kanye West departed from his usual neutral attire during the premiere of his newest shoe line, Yeezy Season 3, at New York Fashion Week. The singer and fashion mogul donned a pastel t-shirt in honor of his mother and Kim Kardashian’s dad, both of whom have passed on.

According to Us Magazine, West’s mother, Donda, passed away back in 2007 following complications during plastic surgery. Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian Sr., died after a long battle with esophageal cancer in 2003.

West’s shirt had a pastel design and featured the words “In loving memory.” Some of Kim’s family were quick to notice West’s nod to their deceased loved ones. In fact, Rob Kardashian posted an image on Instagram of West’s shirt, with the caption, “This is why I Love my Brother!!”

Meanwhile, Us Magazine is reporting that West’s unveiling of his most recent Yeezy collection was quite the show. Apparently, West filled up Madison Square Garden for the event, and included over 1,000 different models. The only catch is that the models had to follow a specific set of rules if they wanted to be a part of the show.

The list of what not to do included 38 instructions for the models, some of which were confusing and contradictory. For example, the list included, “No fast movements,” and “No slow movements,” and “Loosen up no stiffness” and “Do not be casual.”

Despite the long list of commandments, West’s event was a huge success. In fact, according to The New York Times, West not only debuted his new shoes, but he also released his upcoming album, The Life of Pablo.

West stayed behind the scenes during the event while his host of models took center stage in his new apparel. The majority of the models were unknown though a few celebrities did make an appearance. This includes Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede, Young Thug and Veronica Webb.

Speaking of Young Thug, the rapper was featured prominently in the build-up to the event. This included a number of photos of Young Thug dressed in the Yeezy line that were posted to Instagram.

At the same time, GQ is reporting that a number of different photographs from the fashion show have since reached social media. In addition to revealing the set up of the show, the images also provide a great look as some of West’s new attire and what the atmosphere was like during the hyped up show.

Meanwhile, the event also marked the first public appearance by Lamar Odom since his traumatic experience at a brothel in Nevada this past summer. Odom was ushered in by the Kardashian family and sat during the entire event. While the crowd enjoyed the music and new line-up of sneakers, West orchestrated the music backstage.

“If y’all like any of the songs feel free to dance, move,” West stated during the event. “If y’all like it afterwards feel free to cheer.”

West went on to show his support for Adidas while leading the crowd in an explicit chant for his former partner, Nike. West has made headlines recently for his ongoing feud with Nike, which now includes the likes of Michael Jordan.

Although West is adamant that he has no beef with the NBA star, he did take a shot at Jordan during his show.

“People do come to Madison Square Garden to see me play one-on-no-one,” West stated. “We can have a party here and keep playing music till the curfew… I fell a lot of time I get misunderstood just as an artist. No one can tell you what field to stay in. I just want to bring as much beauty to the world as possible.”
