‘GTA V’ Adds New Online Couples Mode In Time For This Holiday Weekend

After releasing this year’s Valentine’s Day update for Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games is continuing to give fans new ways to enjoy the upcoming romantic holiday. On early Friday morning the developer announced the release of the latest Adversary Mode for the game, titled “Till Death Do Us Part.” Like all Adversary Modes in GTA Online, the new content puts several players up against one another by introducing a special competitive rule set.

Keeping with this week’s Valentine’s Day theme, the “Till Death Do Us Part” Adversary Mode hopes to be the perfect activity for couples who wish to prove that they are the best two-person team playing Grand Theft Auto Online. Since the mode is designed specifically for couples, each team only has two members. However, there can be a total of four different teams participating in a “Till Dead Do Us Part” match, so the new Adversary Mode supports up to eight players.

Unlike the usual team-based content that gamers are likely familiar with, GTA V‘s newest Adversary Mode doesn’t require fans to kill every member of the opposing team. For “Till Death Do Us Part,” players will only have to take down one member from any team in order to eliminate that couple. This forces GTA Online users to work together and watch each other back since the remaining teammate will automatically die alongside their fallen partner. In order to further encourage couples to protect one another, fans will also receive special in-game benefits for staying close to each other while enjoying the new Valentine’s Day match.

“Till Death Do Us Part, a brand new GTA Online Adversary Mode, is now available to play. Up to four pairs of star-crossed lovers take part in the ultimate GTA Online quadruple date: each couple has one life between them, and if one half dies, the survivor then takes their own life in dramatic fashion. Additionally, you’ll get Health regeneration bonuses when you stay close to your partner, so get cozy.”

There are multiple maps available now for Grand Theft Auto Online‘s “Till Death Do Us Part” Adversary Mode. Rockstar Games has also compiled a special playlist that includes all five different arena locations for the new couples match that should allow players to quickly try out the content from GTA Online‘s main menu.

“You can play the new Adversary Mode in five different romantic locations (easily selectable via the Adversary Modes section of the GTA Online pause menus) or jump in to a Featured Playlist with a trio of locations by hitting the button on the GTAV launch screens.”

It is also likely that this temporary playlist will be part of a special Valentine’s Day event that the developer has planned for the weekend. Rockstar Games confirmed in the early hours of Friday that special event bonuses would be turned on inside Grand Theft Auto V later in the day, but the team has yet to provide additional details on the exact specifics of the event.

Today’s launch of the “Till Death Do us Part” Adversary Mode followed the release of the GTA Online: Be My Valentine update from earlier in the week. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the recent online update gave Grand Theft Auto V players access to dozens of new clothing options within GTA Online. This includes all-new customization options as well as some returning pieces from last year’s Valentine’s Day update. However, unlike other seasonal content for the game, Rockstar Games has confirmed that all of the new outfits will be made available to users on a permanent basis.

Do you plan to pick up some bonus rewards from this weekend’s GTA V event, or does the prospect of new customization unlocks excite you more?
