LeAnn Rimes is not too happy that her ex-husband, Dean Sheremet, is dishing about her in his new cookbook.
The country singer divorced her husband of seven years, Dean Sheremet, for Northern Lights costar Eddie Cibrian in 2009 after they were caught cheating on their spouses on a security camera. Sheremet has pretty much kept quiet about their divorce and cheating scandal. Well, he did give that lengthy tell-all interview to Us Weekly staffer Natalie Thomas on her lifestyle blog, Nat's Next Adventure, when he was at his most vulnerable.
Now the 35-year-old sexy chef has released his new book, Eat Your Heart Out, which details what really went on between him and LeAnn Rimes.
"She cheated, I got dumped, and we divorced. I'd like to say it was unconscious coupling, but the truth is, I got knocked on my a**."Dean admits that he doesn't blame LeAnn for cheating on him. At the most, he blamed "her" and "him" (meaning Eddie Cibrian), but he ultimately blamed himself in the end.
"I had been the one who was foolish enough to get caught up in a lifestyle that was so different from my own upbringing, a world where Ferraris, Porsches, and private planes were the norm, where dinner parties were populated, with more stars than the Billboard 100."Sheremet said he noticed that his marriage with Rimes was on a downward spiral when he became obsessed with her country music career, even to the point where he lost a sense of who he was. He tried to wear several hats during their relationship, which is partly why it crumbled.
"I loved her more than I love myself, and that's where I went wrong," the scorned cook wrote.
He also added that he felt more like a "father figure" rather than a husband to the now 33-year-old country queen. Dean says that their marriage was often one-sided, in which there was no room to talk about his hopes and desires.
He used the aftermath of their divorce to focus on his cooking career and create some wonderful dishes, which is also included in the book.
Of course, LeAnn Rimes isn't happy with the way he slammed her in his new cookbook. Since they divorced in 2010, Dean and LeAnn have remained "cordial" friends until last week, when LeAnn's lawyers wanted to know what he revealed in his cookbook. Sheremet revealed to In Touch Weekly that he received a letter from his ex's legal team before the book was set to drop.
Like LeAnn wasn't happy about his new book, he wasn't thrilled over the threatening letter he received.
"The lawyers wanted to know what details I included about LeAnn. I just don't get it. She already killed my happiness the first time around. [It's like,] 'Move on already, LeAnn. I've moved on!' "When Dean and LeAnn divorced, they agreed to sign a confidential agreement of sorts that would prevent each of them from disclosing personal information about their marriage that hasn't already been released to the general public.
Sheremet has fully moved on by moving photographer Sarah Silver in 2011. He also works as a food consultant on daytime shows like The Talk and Access Hollywood.
