The Twitter hashtags showing those who want to #BoycottBeyonce versus those who #SupportBeyonce are heating up. Some who support Beyoncé’s message urge others to do so by buying her “Formation” song and “Formation” concert tickets. Those “Formation” concert tickets are already going for a pretty penny, as shown in the following Ticketmaster image, which shows one of Beyoncé’s “Formation” World Tour tickets in Miami going for more than $2,157 as of this writing.
The campaign began online to boycott Beyoncé began after the singer performed her “Formation” song during the Super Bowl 50 halftime show on Sunday. Some folks took umbrage with Beyoncé’s alleged “racist” tribute to the Black Panthers, and they are trying to make their voices heard, claiming Beyoncé’s “Formation” video isn’t fair toward cops because of the images of the superstar atop a New Orleans police car.
The #BoycottBeyonce hashtag on Twitter features a variety of opinions about the Anti-Beyoncé Protest Rally, an EventBrite event that urges others to boycott Beyoncé, with leading questions that call the Super Bowl performance a “race-baiting stunt.” Some agree with the boycott Beyoncé stance, while others are creating memes that show laughter over the boycott Beyoncé movement, with Beyoncé and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter laughing at the whole thing.

As reported by CNN, the GET IN FORMATION: Anti-Anti-Beyoncé Protest Rally popped up to counter the original boycott Beyoncé movement, with the organizer calling for those to boycott the “boycott Beyoncé” movement, and to support Beyoncé in her “Formation” boldness.
“When Black women affirm Blackness/Black womanhood, they are attacked and silenced. This is a counter protest to a racist, ahistorical attack on the Black Panther Party and Beyonce, plus an excuse to celebrate a very awesome song and #BlackGirlMagic moment.”
Women are being asked to don their “Formation” video and/or Super Bowl performance-inspired gear, which makes for a fascinating look, considering the dresses and Gucci gear and hotness seen in the “Formation” video. That Beyoncé boycott is being called joyful, just as the original Beyoncé boycott is urging folks to make their voices heard peacefully.
Beyoncé boldly proclaimed a message that police brutality won’t be tolerated, say Beyoncé supporters. Beyoncé’s detractors call the #BlackLivesMatter movement racist and they criticize the fact that Beyoncé used all-black dancers — perhaps ignoring any other performances from musical artists that have used homogeneous dancers of a different race.
The boycott Beyoncé movement has brought the heat and backlash from those who use hashtags proving they stand with Beyoncé and support Beyoncé wholeheartedly.
There’s no telling if Beyoncé expected this much controversy when she performed with Bruno Mars and Coldplay during the halftime of the NFL Super Bowl 50 football game. With less than one week until the planned Beyoncé boycotts, time will tell if the Beyoncé protests remain peaceful and lawful.
