A ‘Saved By The Bell’-Themed Pop-Up Bar & Diner Is Coming To Chicago This Spring

Time out!

If you ever watched an episode of Saved by the Bell, and chances are that you have at some point in your life, then prepare to get as hyped up as Jesse Spano on diet pills. According to a new Facebook event page, a Saved by the Bell-themed pop-up parody bar and diner is coming to Chicago, but only for a limited time.

“Saved by the Max,” which will open its doors on June 1 in Wicker Park at a location yet to be determined, will recreate the iconic Saved by the Bell hangout, “The Max.” You remember “The Max,” don’t you? You know, the place where Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, A.C. Slater, Jesse Spano, Lisa Turtle, Screech Powers, and all of your favorite Saved by the Bell characters hung out? ALL THE TIME. Oh yeah, and Tori as well.

Organizers are saying that “Saved by the Max” will run throughout the month of June and will feature a full kitchen and bar with food and cocktails inspired by Saved by the Bell. In a statement to NBC Chicago, the shop’s creators expressed their excitement and seem to be loving the response they’ve already received from Saved by the Bell enthusiasts.

“Were really excited about the initial reaction for this pop up, and yes it’s a real thing. As huge Saved By The Bell fans, we promise to deliver the most fun month of Saved by the Bell tributes that principle [sic] Belding would be proud of.”

The Saved by the Bell pop-up will have no affiliation with NBC or Rysher Entertainment, who produced the show, but that certainly won’t keep what I’m sure will be thousands of visitors away from a replica of Zack and Kelly’s favorite hangout to eat from a menu that includes a Preppy BLT, AC Sliders, Macaroni and Screech, Belding Fries, and a Lisa Turtle Milkshake.

Chances are you’re already imagining which of your favorite Saved by the Bell moments you can recreate at “Saved by the Max”. There’s just so many to choose from. I’m betting a lot of people will walk in and immediately do a rendition of “The Sprain.” Personally, I’m hoping that someone dressed as Ken Kelly will be there giving away a trip to Hawaii. We won’t know until “Saved by the Max” opens, but what I can guarantee is that a lot of Saved by the Bell fans are already planning a trip and thinking this right now:
