Alexandra Daddario On Returning To ‘American Horror Story’: ‘What Other Show Do You Get To Eat People?’

Alexandra Daddario is a rising talent in Hollywood, thanks in no small part to her exposure on Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story anthology series, in which she played Natacha Rambova. Now, Daddario says she would love to return to the series as another character, even though she’s keeping busy with big screen hits like 2015’s San Andreas and the upcoming Baywatch reboot feature film. Alexandra even has lent her voice to the new Marvel Avengers Academy mobile game — she voices the Wasp character. Still, the actress loves the fresh opportunities for creative expression offered by American Horror Story and that’s what draws her to Murphy’s anthology and also why she hopes for a new character on the show.

Alexandra Daddario Will Always Hope For A Place In Future Seasons Of American Horror Story

Adding her name to a long list of celebrities, Alexandra confirms that she wants to return to the Ryan Murphy anthology. As so many are eager to return to American Horror Story, there must be something worthwhile about appearing on the series and, when Daddario is asked, her number one reason is creativity. She says the series allows her to do things she’s never done, adding that she feels encouraged to express her own creativity freely, which is something she hasn’t really experienced elsewhere.

There’s also something else that excites Alexandra about the possibility of coming back to American Horror Story.

“And what other show do you get to eat people and make out with Lady Gaga in the same day?” Daddario added. “The people that work on that show are the best of the best. The costume design and the hair and makeup and everything is so complicated and beautiful and it was really quite an experience.”

Alexandra adds that it was an odd experience to just jump right into the season midway through, but knowing what American Horror Story was and the reputation earned by Ryan Murphy helped to ease her nerves. She says, while she may not have been given a full script, she was given enough context to know just what she was doing and how she should approach her character.

Alexandra Daddario Reunites With Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson For Baywatch

Alexandra worked with Dwayne Johnson on San Andreas, so there was at least one familiar aspect of coming to work on the Baywatch feature film reboot. The actress says that she’s excited to be working with so many brilliant people, revealing that Johnson isn’t the only person with whom she had previously worked. Daddario adds that this version of Baywatch will be more of a comedy, which sets it apart from the dramatic TV series of the 90s.

“I think comedy is difficult and this script, I think, is just perfect and so funny and just a great amount of thought was put into making this as funny as possible…I really think people are going to be very happy with what the movie will be.”

As for details about the Baywatch plot, Alexandra was skittish about just what she could reveal, but she did dish on her own character, Summer. Another Baywatch character has eyes for Summer, adds Daddario. The Baywatch actress also said that she likes that she’s being paid for getting into shape, which is something she’s not always motivated to do on her own. She says she’s very excited to be able to look in a mirror and see that the workouts have helped her to develop abs. There is just one thing that makes Daddario sad.

“I do miss ice cream though but I treat myself every now and then, as you can see from Twitter. We’re shooting in Miami and I’m leaving very soon. It’s cool!”

Baywatch is scheduled for a May 19, 2017, theatrical release.
