Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’: New Teaser Revealed — Jon Bernthal And Charlie Cox Talk Season 2

The Netflix Daredevil series is coming next month and this time Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock character will be facing off with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher/Frank Castle. A fireworks-filled Netflix series teaser was just released, giving unto viewing comic book fans’ eyes a flare for the dramatic as posted by Screen Rant and at many other sites. There is an eminent dark feel to the tease that seems to be contrary to whatever celebration is occurring in the backdrop of Hell’s Kitchen.

The Daredevil series teaser seems to suggest some kind of combining of Matt Murdock’s worlds in season two. There was also a recently posted supplemental picture of his broken rose-colored glasses as also mentioned by Screen Rant. That said, it looks like Daredevil’s alter ego got into a rumble with someone. Who could that be?

Another Netflix character of interest is Elektra who is said to be “kind of a sociopath” in an interview with Elodie Yung. She is Daredevil’s ex-girlfriend and seems to come off as enigmatic or described with having many layers, according to Games Radar.

I wanted to keep the coldness of the character – Elektra is kind of a sociopath. This world is a game for her, a chess game. What motivates her is what she wants. She’ll use anything [she] needs to use to get to her goal. If she needs to kill people, she will.

The last season of Daredevil on Netflix was left with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk being transported to jail only to have been busted out of the vehicle that was carrying him. There’s also Murdock’s mentor, Stick, played by Scott Glenn, who will be making his return to season two of the Netflix series.

The teaser states:

“The time has come to settle all debts.”

Screen Rant is suggesting a “stretch” of sorts of Stick’s returning to the Netflix Daredevil series as being somehow connected to Punisher or Elektra’s appearances as there may be some things left unresolved between the mentor and Daredevil. Thus the “debt” issue. That does remain to be seen.

Daredevil’s Jon Bernthal discussed his Punisher role in the series. Since he played Shane on The Walking Dead, it seems that his portrayal of such a character would somehow translate rather well to the Punisher and even then some. It appears that it’s rather amplified further through Frank Castle, according to IGN.

The darkness of Hell’s Kitchen’s ambiance on the Netflix Marvel series is rather apparent and Jon does his best to make it representative.

“I think this guy lives in a world of darkness that no other person in this universe can compare with. My goal here was to put myself in that darkness and bring that up and to never pull punches, to never do half measures, to never be apologetic, to never pursue likability at all, to be completely unapologetic at all times.”

Bernthal then cites:

“It’s not a superhero show. It’s a human show.”

In Netflix’s Daredevil, series there’s no telling how the origin story of the Punisher would be portrayed or how it will come to fruition on the show, but there’s a moral situation here where there could be a difference of opinion and Daredevil intends to be sticking to his own “moral code,” according to IGN and actor Charlie Cox.

“The emergence of Frank Castle in Matt Murdock’s world presents him with a real moral dilemma. I think Matt has the beginnings of a collapse of identity.”

The second season of Netflix’s Daredevil series will arrive this March 18. Other shows to follow on the Marvel small screen will be Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and then finally the team-up of The Defenders.
