After Lady Gaga revamped her artistic style, many were left wondering if her career would still take off. Would she still retain her fans? However, after her stunning performance during this weekend’s Super Bowl event, Lady Gaga proved to the world that she is the singer everyone should watch out for.
The American national anthem, The Star Sprangled Banner, is a challenging feat for any singer. It was ordered at military occasions during President Woodrow Wilson’s stay in 1916. It was not until 1931 that it was signed as the national anthem by an Act of Congress.
Lady Gaga knew the weight of this responsibility. In an earlier interview with NFL, she told them that so far, it is “one of the highest honors of my career.”

The ARTPOP singer added that she had watched and rewatched singers do the national anthem since she was a little girl. Her favorite performance was Whitney Houston’s.
When I was little, I used to stand at the top of my staircase and sing along with her version. At home, the more I would sing it, the more my dad would say, ‘You’re getting pretty good, kid.’ So to be here now and to sing it to America, it’s just wonderful.
Lady Gaga has now joined the big names who have already performed during the Super Bowl. For this year, it is a star-studded event with Bruno Mars, Beyonce and Coldplay performing at the event as well.
As for her Super Bowl team, Lady Gaga did not share who she is betting on but she said she is very excited to watch the game.
I think it marks what being an American is all about — working hard and the ultimate payoff for the champion is hard work. I think the best way to do that is to forget about yourself, and just focus on what it means.

Many people say music heals, and Lady Gaga’s performance during the Super Bowl has been a strong evidence for that. The audience must have been very emotional when she sang.
