Drake And Kanye West Collaboration Coming Soon? Duo May Appear On Young Thug’s ‘Slime Season 4’

Drake and Kanye West may have ignited rumors of an upcoming collaboration last month, but it appears fans may be hearing some new music from the duo sooner than anticipated.

Rumors of an impending Drake and Kanye West collaboration began on Friday, after Young Thug took to Twitter to announce that he would be hosting a Periscope session regarding news of his upcoming mixtape, Slime Season 3.

Earlier this week, Young Thug announced his decision to change the title of his SS3 mixtape to I’m Up, ultimately releasing the project on February 5 after heavy speculation. However, it appears Young Thug still has plans to drop Slime Season 3 after the rapper teased the mixtape’s impending release on Friday while confirming to a fan via Twitter that SS3 will be “a whole different tape,” Hot New Hip Hop reports.

In addition to a second mixtape release, rumors are now suggesting that Young Thug has something big in store for Slime Season 3 after seemingly hinting at a Kanye West and Drake feature during his Periscope session on Friday, The Source reports.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, no official recording of the Periscope session has surfaced online to verify the Drake and Kanye rumors; however, the site did point out that several fans appeared to confirm the news via Twitter during the duration of broadcast.

One fan explained, “Thug said Drake and Kanye are on SS3 I never been so excited in my life.”

Another fan added, “SS3 gonna have drake and Ye on it confirmed to drop next week.”

Despite fans’ confirmations that Drake and Kanye will be featured on Slime Season 3, one user points out that the collaboration will actually appear on SS4 and will likely not drop alongside SS3‘s release next week.

“Young Thug says Drake and Kanye will feature on Slime Season 4 Talking about it on Periscope rn…confirmed coming next week SLIME SEASON 3…,” the Twitter user explained.

While neither Drake nor Kanye West have spoken about the claims, the duo did ignite collaboration rumors last month after West tweeted a photo of a copy of Larry Graham’s 1980 hit, “One In A Million You,” with a caption hinting that “Uncle Larry is with us in the lab.”

West, who featured Drake’s uncle as a sample on his track “No More Parties in LA,” fueled the collaboration speculation after fans began pointing out that the vinyl copy featured in West’s photo appeared to be the exact same copy that Drake previously shared on his own Instagram account just days prior, Complex reported.

Given Kanye West’s cryptic Twitter caption, plus Drake and Kanye’s history of competing with one another in new music releases, fans are holding out hope that a potential collaboration between the duo is on the horizon.

While it’s unclear whether or not Drake and West will be featured on one another’s upcoming albums, with West’s Waves expected to drop on February 11, it appears that the duo may make a surprise appearance on Young Thug’s upcoming SS4 release instead.

Despite rumors suggesting that Drake and Kanye West were planning on releasing their new albums around the same time this month, Drake recently shot down the claims while confirming a tentative April 2016 release date for his highly-anticipated Views From The 6 album during a new segment of OVO Sound Radio last week.
