Ellie Goulding is soaring to the top of the charts and performing throughout Europe, but she still has time to promote causes for the homeless while bashing the ears of one of her annoyances — Martin Shkreli.
Currently, Ellie Goulding is placing in the music charts and Billboard reported on February 1, that her song “On My Mind” is at number one on the Adult Pop Charts.
At the same time, Ellie Goulding is touring Europe, and the Prague Monitor said the following about her February 1, performance.
“Her ability to run, jump and dance her way around the stage was a reflection of how much energy the crowd gave her throughout the evening… at one point [Ellie Goulding] even draped the flag of the Czech Republic over her shoulders, a real crowd pleasing moment.”
About Ellie Goulding’s performance in Madrid, Spain around February 5, Daily Mail states she also gave an enthusiastic performance, but does not deny that touring and being a celebrity musician is difficult.
Ellie Goulding told interviewers that, in addition to getting back with her ex-boyfriend, Dougie Poynter, her life has not been so awesome. Ellie Goulding stated the following about her experiences.
“The last month has been really testing, on everything, on my sanity. The music industry isn’t like other industries, there are no rules about working hours, or taking breaks… Sometimes I don’t have time to eat in the day.”
Concerning her sanity and stress over the month of January, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ellie Goulding finally came out about a brush with death in early January in Norway. About the experience, the Mirror reported that Ellie Goulding stated the following.
“It was scary. I feel like I learnt something about myself in that kind of situation.”
Although fans were completely enraptured with her description of the near-death experience, Ellie Goulding was soon criticized by her fans because of a quote taken out of context.
The Mirror reported on February 2, that Ellie Goulding’s fans were outraged that it was implied in a photo from a magazine shoot that she ate her food with an intravenous drip and fans felt that promoted eating disorders.
Regardless, Ellie Goulding was quick to point out that she does not have a bad relationship with food and thinks that promoting eating disorders is uncool, according to Look.
On the other hand, Ellie Goulding is more than happy to promote a vegan diet. Look to the Stars reported on February 3, that Ellie Goulding will be partnering with a vegan food company, GoMacro, from Wisconsin.
Sadly, while Ellie Goulding is getting a lot of acceptance in general — her own government is not putting out the welcome mat to some of her ideas.
The Guardian stated on February 6, that Ellie Goulding had been rejected by Britain’s Prime Minister, David Cameron, and he will not meet with her about her ideas for addressing her issues related to being the “patron for the Marylebone Project, which is dedicated to helping homeless women in London.”
However, Ellie Goulding is also doing her share of rejecting. Billboard wrote on February 3, that Ellie Goulding told Martin Shkreli to shove it and tweeted about his Ghostface Killah diss video with”This guy needs to eff off or I will hunt him down.” Shkreli tweeted back to Ellie Goulding with “chill bae.”
Shkreli and Cameron drama aside, Ellie Goulding still has performances coming up, and fans have a chance to win free tickets to her gigs.
Metro reports that Ellie Goulding was added around February 1, to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival on May 28, and 29.
Adding to this, KEY 103 says Ellie Goulding fans can win tickets to her February 18, performance at Manchester Cathedral.
