Jim Parsons And Mayim Bialik Have An Eerie Shared Fashion Sense
Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik recently made news on The Big Bang Theory when their characters Sheldon and Amy finally consummated their relationship — demonstrating in a series of scenes that the actors have genuine on-screen chemistry. But recently on-set, Jim and Mayim proved they share something more in real life: a personal aesthetic, or at least a weird ability to show up in similar attire.
Bialik posted a photo to Instagram that focused on Parsons’ t-shirt, adorned with a black-and-white photo of a pair of legs, in stockings and wearing boots. Strangely, Mayim herself was that day wearing black stockings and red boots. Piquing the interest of Big Bang Theory viewers who are also fans of Wil Wheaton, the frequent guest star could also be seen in the shot, in a dramatic pose over Parsons’ shoulder. Bialik briefly captioned the photo in a Facebook post.
“Jim Parsons’ shirt matched my tights and boots today. Wil Wheaton decided to photo bomb us while we were demonstrating that. The end.”
Wheaton’s last appearance this season was on “The Opening Night Excitation,” when he attended the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens wearing a Star Trek uniform. Variety reported this week that Wheaton is set to return for The Big Bang Theory‘s 200th episode, along with first-time guest star, Adam West of Batman fame.
Last month Bialik won the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, her first time being honored for The Big Bang Theory. As ET reported, she gushed as she accepted the award, saying she was ill-prepared because she’d “never won anything.” She dedicated the award to her father who passed away last year.
Parsons, who has won four Emmys and two Critics’ Choice Awards for The Big Bang Theory, posted an Instagram snap of his congratulatory text to Mayim after her win. His caption emphasized his desire to have some discussions with his co-stars remain private and not exposed on social media.
“A text I wrote to Mayim when she won her Critics’ Choice award. I realize some of you kids think nothing is ‘real’ if it isn’t posted on social media, but some of us old people still manage to communicate somewhat privately. Thanks for the lecture, though!”
Parsons and Bialik were on-hand with the rest of the Big Bang Theory cast when the show won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Network TV Comedy in January, 2016. Kaley Cuoco took the stage to speak on behalf of the Big Bang Theory team.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory finally met Meemaw, Sheldon’s beloved grandmother, on Thursday night’s episode. Vulture called it an opportunity to “tick another major event off the shortening list of milestones left to happen on the series,” and it revolved around Meemaw’s dislike of Amy. She was upset by how Amy hurt Sheldon by breaking up with him at the end of last season.
It was also the perfect chance for Amy to learn that Sheldon has an engagement ring and had planned to propose, an event that Vulture predicted would happen “sometime soon. Probably before the end of season nine.”
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday nights at 9 pm on CBS.
