Mariah Carey On Not Wanting Kids With Fiance James Packer

Although Mariah Carey is completely smitten with her twin children, Moroccan and Monroe, she has recently expressed that she has no wish to have more children with soon-to-hubby, billionaire James Packer.

While chatting on The Lowdown with Diana Madison, Mariah opened up about her romance with Packer and her decision to not have any more little ones.

Entertainment Tonight relays the words of the superstar diva on the topic of parenting.

“It’s hard. It only gets harder, but you know what? We make it work and we do our best.”

Carey adds that she fears having more children with Packer would make her 4-year-olds quite jealous, and she’s not wanting to make things more difficult for her twins.

“No, those are my two babies. I think they would be so jealous because they get upset when I pet the dog. [I just want] them to be happy with whatever they do. I want them to be safe and protected and around good people. But I want them to be happy.”

In addition to wanting to ensure her little ones are her top priority alongside her beau, Carey has made it clear that her love for her career and her music is too strong to put it aside in order to raise more children.

“It’s not just ambition, but it’s the love of music and entertainment. That’s always been what I love.”

Mariah is determined to continue to make her art a priority and is proving to do so by getting set for her “Sweet Sweet Fantasy European Tour,” which kicks off on March 15 in Glasgow, Scotland. Additionally, Carey has returned to her residency in Vegas, where she headlines her “#1 to Infinity” set at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace until September 11.

Mariah has made it known that striking a balance between motherhood and career can be tricky, yet it’s her lifelong ambition for her craft and her drive to continue sharing her talent with her fans that make both a possibility.

About her new engagement to James Packer, Carey is clearly elated. The two became engaged in mid-January that involved Mariah being given a massive 35 carat ring, which must make it hard to even lift her hand to be kissed by her billionaire man. Popsugar shared the words of Carey in regards to her feeling when she was proposed to by Packer.

“I’m feeling fantastic, better than ever. He’s an exceptional person, and really… it gets more romantic by the day, so it’s very sweet. [It was] very romantic.”

The songstress then went on to joke about the massive diamond and to give a bit of an idea as to what the ceremony may be like on the day of their wedding.

“[The ring is] so heavy I can’t lift my arm up! No… it’s a nice chunk. [The wedding] will be somewhat soon. We are not doing a big wedding because he did two big weddings, and it’s kind of, like, ‘I’ve done a big wedding, [too].’… We would rather make it beautiful but humble.”

Humble for Mariah will likely still result in a lavish celebration among her closest friends and family.

As for Mariah’s ex-husband Nick Cannon, he responded extremely well to the news and was sure to congratulate his ex-wife and mother to their two children. The former couple have made it known publicly that they will keep things friendly and always be in one another’s life for the sake of their children. Holidays are important to the parents of Moroccan and Monroe, and Mariah and Nick are adamant to always spend them together with their children.
