Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Want To Get Married But Can’t? Gavin Rossdale Divorce Delayed [Report]
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have only been dating for a few months, but already, they appear to be quite serious. In fact, according to a new report by In Touch Weekly, the new couple, who recently flaunted their romance on the ninth season of The Voice, have considered a future marriage. However, because Gwen Stefani has yet to officially divorce her former husband, the couple won’t be tying the knot anytime soon.
“[Gwen Stefani]’s desperately in love with Blake and wants to start a new life with him, but she can’t until the divorce is final,” an insider told the magazine, according to a February 3 report by Hollywood Life. “This has turned into an all-out war with [Gwen Stefani]’s ex — and both Gwen and Blake feel like they’re under siege.”
Not only does Rossdale seem to be holding up the divorce process, he appears as if he could be in denial about it and has been frequently seen wearing his wedding ring while out in Los Angeles.

“[Gwen Stefani] thinks he’s taunting her,” the magazine source explained. “It’s really screwing with her. Blake loves Gwen more than anything and he’s very protective. He hates that Gavin gets under her skin. Some guys would run the other way in this kind of situation. But seeing how it was getting to her, he recently made a surprising decision — to marry [Gwen Stefani] come hell or high water.”
Gwen Stefani and Rossdale parted ways in August of last year after 13 years of marriage and three children together, and according to the magazine, he’s delaying the divorce in hopes of getting spousal support from Gwen Stefani. In addition, claimed the source, Gwen Stefani and Rossdale’s split could get messier as time continues.
“The war is going to get uglier. [Gwen Stefani] wants a life with Blake,” the source revealed. “This relationship with him is a huge turning point in Gwen’s life. But Gavin is standing in her way. Gwen’s friends are very, very worried about her mental and emotional well-being right now.”
Although the magazine didn’t mention an engagement in their report, a second report by Hollywood Life claimed Shelton could be planning to propose to Gwen Stefani on Valentine’s Day.

While Rossdale doesn’t appear to be in any sort of hurry to get his divorce from Gwen Stefani wrapped up, he was reportedly the reason the two split to begin with. As Us Weekly revealed in November of last year, Gwen Stefani reportedly caught her husband cheating with their former nanny, Mindy Mann. According to the magazine’s report, Gwen Stefani was tipped off about the affair by one of Mann’s fellow employees, and later discovered shocking text messages sent between the pair on their family’s iPad. When Rossdale was confronted about the alleged affair with Mann, he was said to have initially denied the cheating allegations, but later confessed, which led Gwen Stefani to file for divorce.
Meanwhile, Shelton was also newly single when his romance with Gwen Stefani began, as he and former wife Miranda Lambert parted ways in July.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are set to reunite for The Voice Season 10, which will air later this month on NBC. Although Gwen Stefani will be featured on the show, she will not be seen in a coaching position as she was last year. Instead, she will be seen as a mentor for Team Blake.
