The most recent trailer for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice revealed that Doomsday will be making his way to the film as one of the main villains. While some fans have expressed mixed thoughts on Doomsday, director Zach Snyder might have another villain yet to be revealed.
According to Latino-Review, the new secret villain that is set to be introduced in Dawn of Justice is Bizarro. In the comics, Bizarro is pretty much the opposite of Superman and has a long history in the DC world. Apparently, the villain will be used primarily as a tool to set up the next Justice League movie and will prove to be a considerable threat to the newly formed group.
While the exact details on Bizarro’s appearance are unknown, Screen Rant is reporting that Lex Luthor might be behind it all. Based on what has been released so far, Luthor uses a chunk of Kryptonite and General Zod’s body to create Doomsday. During one of his experiments, it is believed that Luthor also creates Bizarro, although that has yet to be confirmed.
At the same time, Movie News Guide is reporting that Luthor might find a way to get a hold of Superman’s blood, which is the main ingredient in Bizarro’s creation. The theory indicates that Luthor gets a sample of Superman’s blood after the superhero squares off with Batman. This makes sense, especially if Luthor’s goal is to create a number of different monsters to take out Superman.
Furthermore, this theory follows what happened in the post-crisis DC Comics, where Luthor created Bizarro through a sampling of Superman’s blood. Even further, Batman has expressed a desire to draw blood from Superman in the trailers. Are these hints that Bizarro will make an appearance in the movie?
Although fans would certainly be overjoyed by a Bizarro cameo, it has not officially been confirmed if the villain will make an appearance in the movie. There hasn’t been any evidence that even hints of Bizarro’s inclusion in the movie, let alone who is set to play him. In fact, the only villain, apart from Luthor, to be included in the trailers is Doomsday. This leaves the question of a Bizzaro appearance open to further speculation.
Based on the trailers that have been released so far, the main plot of the film will center on the fight between Superman and Batman. While the two superheroes wage war against each other, their fight is brought to a halt by the appearance of Doomsday, who also attracts Wonder Woman to the fight.
One of the main goals of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is to set up future films in the DC Extended Universe. In order to accomplish this, the studio will need to introduce a bad enough villain that will cause the Justice League members to fight together. While Doomsday could certainly be used to that end, Bizarro would be another candidate for the job.
However, Movie Web is reporting that Bizarro will be making a cameo in the current season of Supergirl. Whether or not this turns out to be the real Bizarro or a Supergirl Bizarro is yet to be seen, but DC is not known for mixing its television superheroes with its big screen ones.
Until more information is released, it cannot be said for certain if Bizarro is Snyder’s secret villain. Either way, fans have a lot to look forward to when the highly anticipated movie finally hits theaters in a couple of months.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25.
