Erika Girardi On Yolanda Speculators: ‘She’s Been Through Enough Already’

Erika Girardi may be new to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she has actually been close friends with Yolanda Foster for years. Erika has been with Yolanda throughout various stages of her lyme disease, and fans first met Girardi when she went with her for a blood test. Unlike the other co-stars, Erika has never questioned her friend’s illness, and she never wants her friend to feel unsupported. According to a new Bravo report, Erika Girardi is now revealing how she feels after watching the last few episodes.

Over the past couple of episodes, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump have discussed Yolanda’s health and Erika Girardi was witness to some of it. In addition, Erika knows that Lisa Rinna entertained a conversation with people who were questioning Foster’s health. Some even brought up the idea that she was faking her illness and even making herself sick — hence suffering from Munchausen syndrome.

“I want to start off by saying how happy it made me to get out to the beach with Yolanda. I almost forgot how pretty Malibu can be. It was such a gorgeous day, it almost made me miss my old Malibu home. She had not been on the beach in months, so this was really special. With everything she’s dealing with right now, she deserves some time to enjoy herself,” Erika Girardi writes in her blog for the show.

“When Yolanda asked what happened after she left the party, I told her. The situation is upsetting to her, and she’s been through enough already. Like I said last week, we should be more sensitive when discussing other people’s children and the challenges they may face. But as her friend, I will look out for her,” she points out.

Of course, Girardi’s loyalty lies with Foster, as they have been friends for much longer than the show. And Erika was willing to meet with Rinna before she had her talk with Yolanda. Since Erika knows Foster, Lisa wanted to talk to her first, so she could get some support and advice on how to handle this situation. And Girardi was happy that Lisa took the talk with her co-star.

“I think Lisa Rinna did the right thing to have a face-to-face conversation with Yolanda regarding her illness. Speculation and ‘chatter’ about something so serious and personal is hurtful, and it causes division within the group. I’m glad they were able to talk it out one-on-one,” Girardi points out in her blog, sharing that she thought it was admirable that Lisa took the conversation serious. She adds that she hopes the ladies can move on from this.

But Yolanda was very hurt by Lisa’s comments, even though Erika Girardi had warned her about the conversation. Erika just wanted her friend to know what was being said about her, but it sounds like she’s actually very hurt by the comments that were made. And while Lisa felt horrible about engaging in the conversation, Foster doesn’t understand why her co-stars would be the ones to question her.

“I feel reluctant, because even though it is hard to look back, the truth is that I’ve let it go. I don’t have an ego in this or the energy to hang on to negativity. The short of it is I felt tremendous disappointment in hearing the women continuously cast doubt on my health journey and especially that of my children. It doesn’t feel good,” she writes in her own Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Of course, Yolanda claims that she is sharing her journey with the world to spread the word about the disease. Two of her three children are also infected, which gives her motivation to keep up her treatments. And while her co-stars are confused, Foster continues her journey as the face of lyme disease.
