‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Breaks Up With Boyfriend T.R. Dues: ‘I Just See Her Every Now And Then’
Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer is reportedly single after splitting from boyfriend T.R. Dues after nine months of dating. Although Leah Messer has been accused of faking a breakup from Dues in the past, Dues has since spoken out, claiming Leah Messer sealed the fate of their relationship with a recent tweet.
“If [Leah Messer] says she’s single, then she’s single,” Dues told Radar Online on February 3. “I just see her every now and then.”
Earlier this week, after regaining custody of her twins from her ex-husband, Corey Simms, Leah Messer told fans online that she was a “single” mom.

According to a previous Radar Online report, Leah Messer and Dues had been living together since at least August, when they reportedly moved into a home in Charleston, West Virginia. However, despite living together and dating for months, Leah Messer has been extremely secretive about her and Dues’ relationship, and in July, she refused to speak of Dues when confronted by her ex-husband, who had been told the couple was living together by one of their daughters. Leah Messer also kept Dues off-camera during Teen Mom 2 Season 6.
Less than one month ago, prior to Leah Messer’s court date in late-January, Radar Online reported details of a fake breakup, which was allegedly staged by Leah Messer in an effort to look like a more stable parent ahead of her then-upcoming court date.
“[Leah Messer] said they broke up a little while ago,” one source told the outlet at the time. “She said it just didn’t work out. He wasn’t a good boyfriend.”
However, other insiders close to the 23-year-old claimed the breakup never happened, and insisted the two were still living together, along with Dues’ two sons, Tyshawn, 8, and Angelo, 4.
“They are very much together, and live as a family with her daughters and his sons,” the insider said. “[Leah Messer] knows it doesn’t look good for her to have a new man in the house already. She wants to look like a stable single mom to the judge in order for her to get her girls back.”
In 2011, after breaking up with husband Corey Simms after admitting to being unfaithful, Leah Messer began dating Jeremy Calvert, and by the end of the year, she was expecting her third child (Messer has 6-year-old twins from her marriage to Simms). Sadly, Leah Messer lost the child in January of the following year, but went on to marry Calvert that April.
Although Leah Messer remained married to Calvert until their divorce was finalized in June of last year (she was in treatment for anxiety and depression at the time), things became complicated in 2013, when Leah Messer and Simms engaged in an affair. Leah Messer was also accused of cheating on her second husband in late 2014, but later claimed it was a rumor.
Then, in early 2015, prior to her divorce, Leah Messer began promoting Dues on Twitter as her personal trainer. However, because she’s been so secretive about him ever since, it’s hard to say when their relationship began, and now, due to her allegedly staged breakup last month, it’s hard to know for sure whether or not they are still together.
Leah Messer will return to Teen Mom 2 later this year for Season 7, along with her co-stars, including Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans and Chelsea Houska. A premiere date has not yet been set, and it is unclear whether or not fans will be seeing Dues during the upcoming installment.
