George Clooney Shares Secrets To A Happy Marriage
While appearing at the premiere of the upcoming film Hail Caesar, within which the heartthrob stars, George Clooney spoke on his marriage to his wife of one year, Amal Clooney, and shared what it is that keeps them solidly smitten, even when oceans apart.
The star spoke with Extra about his secret to his happy marriage with Amal Clooney in the charming and humorous manner the talent is so well known for displaying. George happily shared the key to keeping in touch with his love while the two are separate, Wonderwall relays.
“George shared their key to remaining close. It turns out the famous couple utilize a very common type of technology to stay in touch, and try to keep the time apart to a minimum. ‘FaceTime, we’ll do that, mostly it’s just try not to go very long,’ George explained, noting that despite their busy lives, the two attempt to keep their time apart to a minimum. ‘We spend an awful lot of time together, we try not to have these huge gaps.'”
Both Amal and George have very hectic schedules, therefore, no matter how hard they try to be together, there are lengths of time the couple is expected to go without being in each other’s presence. FaceTime is certainly a necessity when this is the case.
Amal Clooney works full time as a respected human rights lawyer and most recently experienced a victory in the Maldives where she defended a high-profile ex-president, who was later released from prison due to her efforts in proving his innocence in the case. George was sure to rave about his wife’s success late last month to Entertainment Tonight.
“The president of the Maldives was let out of prison, because of a lot of the hard work that she was doing. She’s had a very good week.”
The entertainment site went on to elaborate on the case that Amal had such success in and how the barrister feels she has managed work life with that of her personal and married life.
“President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives was imprisoned after being overthrown in a coup and sentenced to 13 years in prison by his political opponents on a charge of terrorism. Amal noted in her first U.S. interview this month, that she feels ‘a certain responsibility’ balancing her life as a practicing lawyer with her new-found fame, adding, ‘I think I’m exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work.'”
George also manages to juggle a number of projects at once, and although he is often on location, Clooney shares that he and Amal are managing things well in regards to making time for one another.
“We’re able to manage, so far between my work and her work and the things we’re doing, we’re able to manage it pretty well.”
Although Amal and George have been at the center of pregnancy rumors for a number of months now, thanks to persistent tabloids set on perpetuating the false story, George spoke briefly last month on the rumor and completely denied a pregnancy, noting that there will not be one in the near future. The couple has, however, expanded their family with the addition of two adorable rescue dogs as Wonderwall shares.
“The couple expanded their brood at the end of last year, adopting a homeless basset hound named Millie in October 2015. The pup joined their other rescue pup, cocker spaniel, Louie.”
George and Amal Clooney seem to be the perfect pair, acting as advocates for pertinent causes and owning the red carpet whenever they are summoned to.
