Taylor Swift Adores Camila Cabello, Admits ‘I Want To Be In Fifth Harmony’
Taylor Swift and Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello have a special bond, as the gal pals have been hanging out during each singer’s hiatus from touring. Their bond runs so deep that Taylor Swift even admitted she wanted to be a part of Fifth Harmony on her Instagram page.
In the latest best friend sighting between Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello, the two were joined by Empire star Serayah McNeill. Posing together on a couch, the three ladies looked comfortable yet stylish. Taylor Swift had a black knit sweater and black pants, Camila Cabello was in jeans and a white sweater, and Serayah McNeill was rocking a black leather jacket. Taylor Swift posted the picture on her Instagram page with the caption “Saturdays are for group hugs.”
Camila Cabello has been hanging out with gal pal Taylor Swift lately, taking lots of selfies to document the evening. But Taylor Swift and the Fifth Harmony singer go back even further than a recent evening together.
Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift have been friends since early last year and have spent a great amount of time together. According to Bustle, last March, Camila Cabello turned 18 and to help her celebrate was Taylor Swift and a bevy of famous girlfriends. Hailee Steinfeld from Pitch Perfect 2, Sara Hyland from Modern Family, Jaime King from Heart of Dixie, and singer Selena Gomez also helped Camila Cabello blow out her candles. Taylor posted a picture on Instagram of the girls around Camila Cabello’s cake from the special occasion.
In August 2015, Camila Cabello and the entire Fifth Harmony group joined Taylor Swift on stage during the North American leg of her “1989” tour. Fifth Harmony performed their hugely successful song “Worth It.” According to the Daily Mail, Taylor Swift joined the group in a choreographed dance. All of the women were wearing matching blue sequined outfits.
Taylor Swift had nothing but praise for Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony, posting on Instagram, “I want to be in Fifth Harmony.”
Camila Cabello has begun to find fame in a solo career, and with this success has come speculation that Fifth Harmony will soon break up. Camila Cabello performed with Shawn Mendes on the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which also sparked dating rumors. However, as of December 2015, Camila Cabello has sought to redirect those rumors. In an interview with ET Online, she labeled Shawn Mendes as a friend.
“He’s like, one of my best friends. He’s amazing.”
As for the future of Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello wants to let fans know there is nothing to worry about. According to her, the group is “working on our second album right now. We are in the last few days recording. You’re going to be hearing new music very soon, and that’s that.” The album should be released in the upcoming months.
While Camila Cabello is still with Fifth Harmony, she knows that the group might not be together forever, and she’s okay with that.
“Obviously any band, any group, someday is not going to be together anymore. That’s the truth. [Everybody] kind of knows it, whether you say it or not. We’re working on new music for you guys right now — just be happy!”
Whether Camila Cabello makes music solo or with Fifth Harmony, her friendship with Taylor Swift will be kept intact.
