Harrison Ford Turns 70 Today

Harrison Ford turns 70 today, a number that doesn’t really seem to faze the actor, who recently wrapped up on filming for “Ender’s Game,” where he will play Colonel Hyrum Graff.

Ford began his acting career 46 years ago, according to Zap2It, and it’s pretty hard to imagine what life would be like without Indiana Jones or Han Solo’s influence on our lives.

Christopher Shaw, a cosplayer who was all gussied up as Indiana Jones in the convention hall of Comic-Con, told CNN that:

“[His impact] is huge. He single-handedly brought back the fedora, the Stetson and the leather jacket, the whip. He brought back the adventure with Spielberg and Lucas, brought back adventure in all genres, sci-fi, fantasy and the rest.”

Shaw went on to say:

“Happy birthday, Harrison! Keep the adventures coming. Hopefully there will be an ‘Indy 5’ coming soon, and if you retire before then, I’m your man.”

Another fan, Alex from Long Beach, California, spoke to Harrison Ford, saying:

“I enjoy all of your movies, you’re definitely my all-time favorite actor, and that’s why I’m dressed like you today. I think he’s one of the most fantastic action heroes of all time. I think he’s been a role model to several young men who want to grow up to be Harrison Ford’s characters.”

Geeks of Doom celebrates Ford’s birthday by taking a look back at his most memorable productions, which include Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

CNN reports that prolific monster actor Doug Jones stated of Harrison Ford turning 70 that:

“If he is seventy today, then I can still honestly say I want to be like him when I grow up. Happy birthday Harrison Ford!”

Same goes for all of us at IQ, thank you, Harrison Ford, and happy 70th birthday!
