‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Sansa’s Big Year, Jon Snow’s Fate, And The Return Of The Dead

Game of Thrones spoilers are eagerly sought by its throngs of fans, and over the last few weeks, some have indeed slipped out. Let’s pull them together and see what Season 6 will look like.

First, a Game of Thrones spoiler from Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark. Hollywood Life reports that in an interview at Entertainment Weekly’s party following the SAG Awards, Turner described this year as “a really, really big one for Sansa.” Thank goodness. She has had a rough time of it in a life not of her choosing.

Turner continued, saying, “It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good… [Sansa is] finally getting that storyline that you’ve been craving for the past five seasons”

Yes! Season 5 of Game of Thrones had Sansa returning to Winterfell to marry Ramsay Bolton and crossing paths with Theon in the process. It ended with Sansa escaping from Ramsay by leaping from the walls of Winterfell with Theon. It will be great fun to watch her find her strength and stand up for herself. Both Turner and Maisie Williams have stated that Season 6 of Game of Thrones will be huge with some of its biggest moments to date.

The most talked about Game of Thrones question is whether or not Jon Snow is dead. There has been conflicting information on this one.

In a major Game of Thrones spoiler, Kit Harington himself told Digital Spy that Jon Snow is dead, telling them, “People didn’t want me to die, but he’s dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it.”

But what about the HBO poster that features his face and was believed to be a spoiler indicating that he lived? Why do that if he isn’t going to appear in the new episodes of Game of Thrones?

But does that rule out the possibility of his resurrection as rumored among Game of Thrones fans not long ago? Could he mean that he is dead for now but will, in fact, be resurrected by Melisandre? In November, in a Game of Thrones spoiler, Watchers on the Wall sources reported that Carice van Houten, who plays Melisandre, did little filming for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones and that the filming she did was likely related to Snow’s resurrection. They also reported that their source had stated that Jon’s direwolf will also be part of his resurrection.

In other Game of Thrones spoilers, Movie Pilot reported that some characters who died in prior episodes will be seen once again this year. Among them is The Hound. The source of this spoiler is a sighting of actor Rory McCann near a Westeros set. The last time we saw him, Arya had left him to bleed to death on a hillside. It seems he may have survived, which can’t be a good thing for Arya.

The biggest Game of Thrones spoiler related to the return of the dead has to do with Catelyn Stark. In the George R.R. Martin books upon which Game of Thrones is based, Lady Stark appears as the undead Lady Stoneheart. It’s believed this will happen in Season 6 because we also know that Blackfish will appear in the new season of Game of Thrones, and in the books, this happens just before the appearance of Lady Stoneheart.

Game of Thrones will premiere its new season on August 24 on HBO.
