Teresa Giudice Reveals How She Told Her Children About Prison Stint

Teresa Giudice is revealing how she told her children she was going to prison and, as she also recalled, the emotional moment she said goodbye to her family.

Giudice made the admissions in her new tell-all memoir, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, which the New York Daily News‘s Confidenti@l got a sneak peek at ahead of its big release on February 9.

The site is alleging that Teresa gets candid about the night she said goodbye to her family in the new book, before revealing that she told her four daughters, Gia, Milania, Gabriella, and Audriana Giudice, that she was “going away for work reasons.”

According to Confidenti@l, Teresa documents celebrating her eldest daughter’s birthday the day before she began her 12-month prison sentence in Danbury Correctional Facility in the upcoming memoir and revealed that she told the youngest girls that “Mommy has to leave” that night as they lay in bed.

The site is alleging that Gabriella became “hysterical” upon hearing the news, causing the rest of the family, including Teresa and husband Joe, to also break down in tears.

Confidenti@l then revealed that Teresa removed her hair extensions before she left for the Connecticut prison early the next morning, before Joe told his wife he loves her and gifted her with a rosary and a medal of St. Christopher and St Teresa.

As fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey reality star will already know, Giudice served 12 months behind bars after entering a guilty plea to 41 counts of fraud, according to reports by ABC News. Joe Giudice was also sentenced to time being bars and is expected to surrender for his 41-month sentence this March.

But while Teresa’s husband will be entering prison next month, Giudice herself is gearing up for the release of the new book, taking to Twitter on February 2 to show off the cover and tell her more than 1 million fans that she was “excited” to reveal all about her recent prison stint.

“One week from today I get to share my life story with you,” Teresa Giudice wrote on Twitter.

“Time to set the record straight #TurningTheTables #Feb9.”

Teresa also took to social media on February 2 to post a snap of herself and Joe celebrating their daughter’s 10th birthday. “Happy 10th Birthday to my Beautiful Milania!,” Teresa Giudice wrote on Instagram alongside a sweet photo of her daughter with a huge birthday cake. “Mommy & Daddy Love You.”

People first announced that the tell-all memoir would be hitting shelves back in November, when the site revealed that Teresa’s book will tell the story of “dramatic rise to reality TV fame, her marriage and tight-knit Italian family, and the recent federal prison sentence.”

The site also confirmed last year that the candid memoir was put together while Giudice was behind bars and “features never-before-seen scans of her diary while detailing what life is truly like in a federal corrections facility and how the mother of four found strength during one of the most trying times of her life.”

“People think they know everything about me … but they don’t. Not even close,” Giudice reportedly told the site last year following the big reveal of her book, “The world will see a new Teresa. A different Teresa. Well, actually, the Teresa I always was.”

People confirmed that Giudice will soon be completely free, as her house arrest is currently expected to end on February 5.

Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again is set for release on February 9, 2016.
