‘Avatar 2’ Release Date Announced And Production Begins In April

Avatar 2 begins production in April after it was announced that the sequel to the top-grossing movie in history would finally be made. Director James Cameron will once again direct the movie, and the script was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who also wrote the script for the remake of the Planet of the Apes.

According to Coming Soon, the cast from the original Avatar will return to reprise their roles. That includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang. There are also other sequels in the works, although no further details have been announced.

As previously reported in The Inquisitr, the latest movie from the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, is trying to overtake Avatar as the highest grossing movie in history. Currently Star Wars: The Force Awakens has grossed over $1.95 billion in sales worldwide, while Avatar tops the list with over $2.1 billion in sales. Another of the highest-grossing movies is also a James Cameron film, Titanic. Although the Star Wars movie is only about six weeks into its release in movie theaters, it is believed that it will not overtake Avatar. An anthology of Star Wars movies is set to be released, and Rogue One will be released in between the current episode and Episode 8.

Other sequels were announced and are currently in production. These include Wolverine 3, Bladrunner 2, Fifty Shades Darker, and Transformers 5.

Indiewire said that last month the production of Avatar 2 had once again been delayed, and both 20th Century Fox and James Cameron have refused to comment on the reasons for the delay. James Cameron will be shooting a trilogy simultaneously. The scale of the project is expected to be bigger than previously done, and scheduling the actors who appeared in the original Avatar will be tricky. Cameron plans to shoot the trilogy simultaneously. The new technology that Cameron is using to shoot Avatar 2 and the other movies is expected to be massively expensive and time consuming, thus a possible reason for the potential delay in filming the latest movies.

The shooting for Avatar 2 is expected to begin in April, and it will once again be shot in New Zealand. There’s no word yet as to whether Avatar 2 will be the only movie of the trilogy to begin shooting or if it will be all three.

Movie News Guide reported spoilers related to Avatar 2 as well as James Cameron’s inspiration for deciding to create the ambitious trilogy. Cameron said that he received several ambitious designs for the new movies, and although each movie will be the direct consequence of what happened in the original movie, each movie will be able to stand on its own.

Avatar 2 will feature the actors from the original movie, with Zoe Saldana as Neytiri and Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, the protagonists of the movie. Cameron plans to explore their story, and they will have children in the second movie. Their children will be half-Na’vi, half-human because of the DNA of Jake Sully’s avatar body.

Avatar 2 is expected to be released in 2017, although that could be changed because of James Cameron’s desire to achieve perfection in his movies. The movie will include underwater scenes and continue to explore the planet-like moon Pandora, where the story takes place. The original Avatar told the story of an indigenous humanoid species called the Na’vi, who inhabit Pandora. It included various flora and fauna, and humans were there to mine unobtanium, creating the conflict of the story.
