Recently, a rumor originated that Wiz Khalifa projected part of Kim Kardashian’s infamous sex tape with rapper Ray-J to his crowd after Wiz performed in Chicago this past Saturday night. No one is sure exactly how or why the rumor started, says VIBE. Just yesterday, though, Khalifa’s DJ dispelled the rumor.
If you hadn’t heard, Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West have been in a vicious, no-holds-barred feud for about a week now. It began with Kanye announcing on January 26 that his upcoming album was being re-titled from Swish to Waves. Khalifa quickly made it clear that he was not a fan of the new name by posting several tweets arguing that the terms “wave” and “wavy” had already been coined by rapper Max B, Wiz Khalifa’s former friend, on his 2012 album Toothy Wavy, and that because of that, the new album name was played-out and unoriginal.
Was it a bit much for Wiz Khalifa to insist another rapper owned the rights to a reasonably common word? Maybe. But Kanye went absolutely ballistic and his retaliation crossed a line, most critics agree.
In the series of Tweets Kanye sent back at Wiz after Khalifa’s album name diss, West ripped into Wiz Khalifa’s music and mocked him for dating Amber Rose, a model and former stripper who also happens to be Kanye’s ex.
“Oh n****s must think I’m not petty cause I’m the best that’s ever made music”
“Like, oh that’s Ye and I can put his wife’s initials on my twitter @Wizkhalifa“
“Bro first of all you stole your whole shit from Cudi”
“Second, your first single was corny as f*** and most there after”
“work hard play hard pic.twitter.com/zp2P7FMtVp”
“You have distracted from my creative process”
“I went to look at your twitter and you were wearing cool pants”
“I screen grabbed those pants and sent it to my style team #Wizwearscoolpants“
“3rd no one I know has ever listened to one of your albums all the way through”
“4th you let a stripper trap you”
“5th I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years”
“6th don’t ever come out the side of your neck at me”
“7th I am your OG and I will be respected as such”
“8th I made it so we could wear tight jeans”
“9th me and Cudi created this s**t”
“10th don’t you ever in your f*****g life speak sideways about a n***a that’s fighting for us I do this for all of us”
“11th I showed you respect as a man when I met you”
“12th You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me”
“13th You own waves???? I own your child!!!!”
“14th N***a it’s called creativity #youshouldtryitsomeday“
“15th N***a I tried to call you and you changed your number”
“16th don’t even hint at mentioning me my family or my wife I am your OG”
“17th I think you dress cool I wish I was skinny and tall”
“maybe I couldn’t be skinny and tall but I’ll settle for being the greatest artist of all time as a consolation”
“Don’t ever ever ever come out the side of your mutherf*****g neck bro or bruh or however you say it Mr. Waves”
“I’m YE and I ain’t gotta say it the right way I’m Ye I’m Ye I’m Ye I’m Ye I’m Ye I’m Ye I’m Ye”
“Thank you for the extra promotion #WAVES available February 11th”
The stuff about Wiz Khalifa’s pants being cool isn’t so bad, but the overall message was clear: Kanye meant war with Wiz.
Several days later, the internet began buzzing with the news that Wiz Khalifa had countered Kanye’s personal attack by getting personal himself. Many gossip sites claimed that Wiz had played parts of the Kim Kardashian sex tape that leaked in 2007 on a screen in the background of his Saturday night concert.
Wiz’s collaboration partner DJ Bonics was the first to definitively deny the rumor with a tweet.
According to Hollywood Life, Wiz Khalifa wasn’t even in Chicago on Saturday night; he was in South America.
So Wiz Khalifa took the high road this time. Probably a good move. Let’s wait and see what, if any, will be the next move in Wiz and Kanye’s epic feud.
