Jill Duggar Dillard Responds To Zika Virus Reports And Filming Rumors

Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband, Derick Dillard, haven’t posted an update on their mission trip since the end of December. Since then, a number of reports have emerged that have made fans of the Duggar family very curious about Jill and Derick’s future plans—the rapid spread of the Zika virus in Central America has many concerned about the couple’s health, and fans are also wondering whether Jill and Derick recently returned to the States to film an interview for TLC.

Redbook recently published an article titled “Why Moms Like Jill Duggar Are Now Wary of Getting Pregnant.” The article points out that the Zika virus, a mosquito-borne illness that may cause birth defects in babies, has just been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). As The Inquisitr previously reported, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are currently doing mission work in El Salvador, where officials have advised women to avoid getting pregnant until 2018. The Duggars don’t believe in birth control, so those who closely follow the family are worried that Jill might ignore warnings about the Zika virus and get pregnant, anyway. Pregnant women infected with the Zika virus risk giving birth to babies with abnormally small heads and brain damage, a birth defect called microcephaly.

Because the Zika virus threat has become so serious, many Duggar fans have started to suspect that Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have returned to Arkansas to avoid getting infected. As the Inquisitr recently reported, radio host Danni Starr further heightened these suspicions when she revealed that she had conducted interviews with various TLC stars last week. Danni works for the network and stars in many of its TLCme videos.

“Huge day for me today! I’m interviewing Jill and Jessa, The Little Couple and The Busby Bunch! TLC has a lot of faith in me and I’m so thankful! Wish me luck!!” Starr wrote on Facebook before her interview.

However, Jill and Jessa Duggar were nowhere to be seen in a photo of the interview that Danni shared on Facebook—the Duggars pictured were John David, Josiah, and Joseph. Jessa Duggar’s husband, Ben Seewald, also took part in the interview. It’s possible that Danni meant that she was interviewing a few of the stars of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, not Jill and Jessa themselves.

Danni has scrubbed all evidence of her Duggar interview from her Facebook page, which has just made fans and critics of the Duggar family more curious about what’s going on. It definitely looks like the Duggars will be returning to TLC in some form or fashion, but what remains to be seen is whether Jill will be filming in Arkansas with them.

Jill Duggar recently revealed that she might provide some answers in the near future, and it looks like she wants fans to believe that she and Derick Dillard haven’t left El Salvador yet.

“Israel loves making new friends! More pics and an update coming soon to www.dillardfamily.com,” Jill captioned the Instagram photo below.

Jill Duggar Shares Evidence That She's Still In El Salvador

Even though Jill Duggar’s picture was taken in El Salvador, it’s possible that it’s an older photo and that she and Derick Dillard are actually back in Arkansas. Jill and Derick will likely answer this question in their mission trip update, and they might also share their thoughts on the Zika virus and their future baby plans. During the Jill & Jessa: Counting On special, Jill Duggar revealed that she and Derick Dillard were hoping to return home from their mission trip with another baby.

“Who knows? We came down to Central America as a family of three. We could go home as a family of four, or more!” Jill said, according to the International Business Times. In her upcoming update, perhaps she’ll let fans know whether the Zika virus has made her rethink her plan to expand her family during her mission trip.

Or maybe not—Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard do have a habit of keeping their mission trip updates rather vague, and they might want to keep their fans guessing about what’s going on in their lives to ensure that they tune in to TLC when the Duggars make their second return to the network.
