Christina Aguilera On Her New Body, Marriage, And Motherhood

Christina Aguilera is opening up about her dramatic weight loss, marrying boyfriend Matt Rutler, and why she’s urging moms everywhere to take care of themselves more.

The Voice coach showed off her killer body in the latest issue of Women’s Health. Christina Aguilera also showed off her impressive yoga skills, according to E! Online. Inside the magazine, Aguilera rocks plenty of cleavage-baring looks, but also shows off some of her fitness moves. She’s seen doing both a standing and a sitting pose.

The mom of two says that yoga has helped her “know how to center [her]self and bring [her]self to a place of awareness.”

“It’s things like yoga that brings you outside of that chaotic moment and then draws you inside to connect with what really is meaningful to you and sort of your inner light which then connects with your confidence.”

Back in 2013, the 35-year-old revealed to Extra TV that her dramatic weight loss was due to “laughter, happiness, breathing” and also “some yoga.” Christina also revealed that she learned how to incorporate paintball guns into her workouts.

Christina Aguilera was able to drop 35 pounds that year, but she still was hit with rumors of liposuction and plastic surgery, which she slammed. Aguilera claims that her weight loss was due to commitment, dedication to yoga, and a healthy diet. When it comes to her diet, she likes to healthy fats like avocado, lean proteins like chicken and fish, and healthy snacks like almonds and celery.

Sources also revealed to E! News that Xtina has been dedicated to her yoga sessions and hasn’t stopped since.

“And Christina has already been working hard on getting her bod back in shape! She is doing private yoga sessions and loves how it makes her feel.”

In her latest interview with Women’s Health, Aguilera also revealed that she’s in no rush to marry her fiancé, Matt Rutler. “We discuss it when we’re snuggling in bed, but it’s a casual conversation,” Aguilera said, sharing the intimate details.

The couple was engaged on Valentine’s Day 2014 after three years of dating, and then welcomed daughter Summer Rain later that year in August.

“I swear if I hadn’t called her Summer I would’ve called her Joy because she just lights up a room and she illuminates brightness and happiness.”

Now Christina is standing up for mothers who are trying their hardest to do it all in this already busy world.

“Mothers are constantly expected to be the nurturers, the givers, the providers of a comfortable home. We’re expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breastfeed once we have the babies. And we’re expected to look amazing after baby, right? Keep our husbands and boyfriends interested – because we’re supposed to get back to sexy and keep things exciting in the bedroom. There’s such a long list.”

Instead, Aguilera has learned how to feel more comfortable with her curves, and is urging other mothers to do the same.

“I’m not into deprivation; I’m not into suffering into getting a great body or the body that you want. I’m into enjoying life, being conscious and aware, but also breathing into yourself and owning what you got.”

On her days off, the singer takes care of herself by indulging in spa treatments. If Christina can’t fit a spa day into her busy schedule, then she will make time for a relaxing bath in her home, but the singer says there’s nothing quite like having a “spa day.”
