When an awards ceremony hands an award to someone most people don’t think deserved it there is typically a period where the other nominees smile and offer their congratulations. If that ceremony is the ESPY’s and Tim Tebow wins for “Best Moment” however the outright rage over the decision comes to the forefront.

On Wednesday night Tim Tebow won the “Best Moment” award for his 80-yeard touchdown pass in overtime of the AFC wild-card playoffs. That pass gave the Denver Bronco’s the win and pushed the Pittsburgh Steelers out of the NFL playoffs.

After the event fans took to Twitter and Facebook to blast the decision, noting that Tim Tebow is an over-hyped, under-performing quarterback who made a rather routine pass.

Throw in the fact that a wide receiver also had to be in the right place at the right time and the “Best Moment” didn’t really belong to just one athlete.

Following the win junior college baseball player Derrick Salberg tweeted that losing the award meant he would now have to “listen to Tebow talk.”

The other nominee response came from @RaysBaseball, on that account officials from the Tampa Bay Rays point out that they had a game winning walkoff win over the Yankees last season in Game 162 of the regular season.

Sharing their disappointment with the Tim Tebow loss the Tamba Bay Rays tweeted:

Other sports fans seemed similarly peeved about the Tim Tebow ESPY win. Here are a few fan reactions from Twitter:

My personal favorite response came from the @FauxJohnMadden account:

Do you think Tim Tebow deserved to win the ESPY award for “best moment.”
