‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 To Take On Slender Man?

Ryan Murphy and his team of writers are currently working out all the details concerning American Horror Story’s sixth season. While a lot of mystery remains about where the show will go next, there is a possibility that a certain creepy legend might be the focus of the new season.

A source close to the situation told Us Magazine that American Horror Story’s upcoming season will center on Slender Man. “Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show,” the source explained.

For those that don’t know, Slender Man is a legendary creature whose roots date back to the internet in 2009. The character is often described as wearing a black suit and has a liking for kidnapping children, among other things.

According to Zap2it, Slender Man started out as a meme and has since gone through a variety of different looks. However, two of the key characteristics of Slender Man is his faceless appearance and tall stature, which are sure to give anyone the creeps.

Although Slender Man was born and bred on the internet, he has made an appearance in a number of different venues. This includes short stories, video games, and his very own installment of the hit CW series, Supernatural. In fact, the creature has reached such heights of fame that he was blamed for a series of attacks that occurred in Wisconsin in 2014.

That being said, Murphy has yet to release any concrete details concerning the new season of American Horror Story. If he does decide to go with the Slender Man angle, then Murphy still has some work to do to make that a reality.

In fact, the insider went on to reveal that Murphy still has to get permission to use the character in his series. Given the success of American Horror Story over the years, this should not be an issue.

“They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there,” the source stated.

While it is still up in the air if Slender Man will make his way onto the hit horror drama, fans can expect a few casting announcements to be made in the coming months. For his part, Murphy is expected to try and get Lady Gaga to return next season, while at the same time bring back most of the regulars that have made the series such a huge success over the years.

As fans will recall, Gaga made her debut during American Horror Story: Hotel, and even managed to win a Golden Globe for her efforts. In so doing, Gaga impressively beat out the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Sarah Hay, Felicity Huffman, and Queen Latifah on the road to winning in the category of best actress in a limited series.

While Gaga played the part of a vampire last season, it will be interesting to see what kind of role Murphy has in mind for Gaga, especially if he goes with Slender Man. Considering all of the past characters Murphy has dreamed up for the series, there is no way in knowing what part he has in store for Mother Monster.

Until more information is released, there is no way in telling if Slender Man will be a part of the new season of American Horror Story. Whatever ends up happening, fans are sure to be for another great series as the anthology series enters its sixth season.

An official premiere date for Season 6 of American Horror Story has not been released, though fans can expect it to air sometime in the fall of 2016.
