Nicki Minaj Earns NBA Announcers’ Love, While Meek Mill Still Gets No Respect
Nicki Minaj is a beloved figure wherever she goes, even when the rapper joins Meek Mill in his hometown.
The same may not be true for Meek Mill. In Philadelphia to take in the NBA game with Sixers and Golden State Warriors, Nicki Minaj drew strong praise from the TV announcers calling the game, while Meek Mill — well, he’s with Nicki Minaj.

The newest diss on Meek Mill was recorded and shared by an NBA fan via Twitter. In the video, Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play announcer Marc Zumoff trips up as he shows his preferences for Nicki Minaj between the two rappers.
“Sellout crowd, including Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj. It’s always great to have Nicki in the house, of course Meek as well, but it’s great to have Nicki here because, and she is accompanied by Meek.”
The announcer immediately attempted to deflect attention from his comments, adding that the home team Sixers are a perfect 2-0 when Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill attend games there. Philadelphia’s NBA franchise could use visits from the pair more often, as the Sixers are only 5-41 when Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill aren’t watching games in person, and own the worst record in the league this season.
Later, the cameras caught Nicki Minaj paying less attention to the game than her looks. The Daily Mail noted that Nicki Minaj spent time during the game attending to her make-up, using a glittery, pink-backed mirror to touch up her eyeliner.
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill also enjoyed a bag of cotton candy, according to the publication. The “Anaconda” singer devoured the snack, leaving the bag at Meek Mill’s feet after finishing it off.
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are both busy these days. Meek Mill is dropping new tracks to continue the feud between himself and Drake. Both Drake and Meek Mill dropped tracks over the weekend, giving fans a chance to check each other’s tracks for disses toward the other, BET reported.
This year will be another eventful year for Nicki Minaj, too. Freeform (formerly ABC Family) has picked up a biographical look at Nicki Minaj’s childhood in the 1990s. The show has already named its cast, according to CNN. The show is slated for later this year as shooting began this month.
Nicki Minaj — who seemingly always is feuding with someone — has done little of that to start 2016. Outside of a Twitter spat with Teen Mom Farrah Abraham, Nicki Minaj has not made many headlines for her famous ability to cast shade.
As for music, there is little news about a new album for Nicki Minaj. Instead, all fans have had since The Pinkprint — her third studio recording — is a collaboration with The Weeknd on “The Hills.” After winning the Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, Nicki Minaj explained the creative process behind the recording, the Inquisitr reported.
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill started dating just last year, and the couple seems headed down the aisle at some point. Meek Mill purchased a heart-shaped ring for Nicki Minaj in 2015, and rumors swirled that the ring was meant for an engagement. Neither person has denied nor confirmed the rumors, however, leaving fans chomping at the bits for more information on their immediate future.
