George Clooney Clarifies Pregnancy Rumors
Although George Clooney and barrister wife Amal have reason to celebrate, it’s not due to expecting a baby. Though the two have been actively expanding their family by adopting some seriously adorable rescue dogs. The rumors about a possible pregnancy for the notable couple have been circulating for months now, even though Amal has not produced even a slight bump on her tiny frame.
Clooney finally addressed the rumors about the pregnancy, as People relays.
“The Hail, Caesar! actor was light-hearted when asked about pregnancy rumors at the Good Money Gala in Amsterdam on Tuesday. ‘No,’ Clooney, 54, said in response to a reporter’s inquiry about a baby.”
George then added a hilarious aside while being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight on the subject.
“But I like that you started that rumor.”
Although there is no celebration for the anticipation of a new little one to add to their family, George emphasized his elation over the success his impressive and intelligent wife Amal has experienced recently. The human rights barrister is known for taking on some high profile and risky cases. George shared with the entertainment network about his wife’s success on her most recent case.
“The president of the Maldives was let out of prison, because of a lot of the hard work that [Amal] was doing. She’s had a very good week.”
“In a joyous victory for the 37-year-old human rights lawyer, her client, former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed, was granted a temporary release from a prison in his home country after being found guilty last March in a trial described as a ‘mockery’ of justice.”
The happy couple, who have been married for a little over a year now, have been the topic of pregnancy rumors since they got hitched back in 2014. Hello Magazine shares that it was really ever since Amal’s father made one key statement following the couple’s nuptials, that had onlookers waiting eagerly and the tabloids capitalizing on the possibility of a baby Clooney soon. Hello relays the circumstance.
“Ever since their September 2014 wedding, George and Amal Clooney have been the subject of pregnancy rumours. Celeb fans have been waiting for a happy announcement after Amal’s dad told the couple in a speech during the Ventian ceremony, which was exclusively featured in HELLO!, ‘Now it’s time for grandchildren.’ “
Although no grandchildren have arrived as of yet, and as it seems may not arrive anytime soon, Clooney has been taking in new little additions to the household, as previously stated. Hello shares how the Clooneys recently took in Nate, a rescue dog, over the festive season.
“The Money Monster actor adopted Nate, a terrier who was born with birth defects. The Clooney’s own terrier had recently died after being with the family for ten years. George had apparently been watching videos of Nate, and reading his profile with the idea of giving the pup to his mum.”
The organization, called LuvFurMutts, where the Clooneys adopted little Nate, commented on the adoptive parents to the terrier. Sharing that “George had a feeling [his parents] were ready for a new furry friend.” The pup was adopted jointly by both Amal and George from the shelter, and delivered it to his parents on Christmas Eve.
Amal and George are seriously busy in their respective careers, and if a dog will do for now as their baby, the tabloids will just have to be satisfied. Amal has recently begun a new case, and George is busy with a variety of projects that keeps the two just a touch too busy for a mini Clooney.
