Carrie Underwood Supporting Military Families With ‘Storyteller’ Tour

It was announced today that Carrie Underwood will be using her upcoming “Storyteller – Stories in the Round” tour in association to benefit military families around the U.S.

In a video posted to Carnival Cruise Line’s official YouTube page on January 28, Underwood revealed that she was teaming up with Carnival Cruise Line “to support our nation’s military families who sacrifice so much for our country” and raise money and awareness for Operation Homefront.

The latest team-up will see Carrie meet a number of deserving military families for private meet and greets throughout her “Storyteller” tour, all of which will be featured in an online video series for the cruise company.

Carrie Underwood’s latest team-up means that she will be a part of the year-long “Honor. Family. Fun. Program” while she’s on the road for her “Storyteller – Stories in the Round” tour, which will allow carefully selected military families to attend Underwood’s private concert on Carnival Cruise Line’s newest state of the art ship this coming November.

“I’m honored to be able to join Carnival Cruise Line and Operation Homefront to lift up these soldiers and their families,” Underwood said in a press release. “I am really looking forward to meeting them on my tour and for the opportunity to personally thank them for all they do for our freedom.”

Carrie also announced today that she will also be raising money for Operation Homefront by selling commemorative dog tags at all of “Storyteller” tour stops, which currently has 47 dates scheduled around North America and Europe.

But this isn’t the first time Carrie Underwood has used her show-stopping tours to do good.

Back in 2012, Carrie revealed that she would be donating $1 from every single ticket sold from the North American stops of her tour to the Red Cross to provide aid for those caught in natural disasters.

The big announcement comes just days after Underwood gave fans a glimpse at tour life on social media, where she took to Instagram to show off the state-of-the-art gym she recently had installed into her tour bus.

“New tour toys! Had a #mobilegym made for this year! Now I can work out anywhere! (There are a few finishing touches that still need to be done to it),” Carrie captioned a shot of her new mobile workout station on the photo sharing site.

“My new motto is: #ShreddedBySummer,” Underwood continued, “The one and only @eveoverlandfitness is going to help me get there. I’ll post progress as I go! I’m super excited!”

Carrie Underwood previously revealed that she also decked out her home away from home with extra safety pieces to accommodate her 11-month-old son, Isaiah, who will be joining Carrie on the road.

“In the back there’s my bed, and then on the other wall is a crib that you can take the side panel down,” Carrie recently told Taste of Country of her decked out tour bus. “It’s just built in so he’s secure in his bed and he can have his own space and everything. It all slides out so he’ll have plenty of room to roam around.”

Carrie also revealed to her almost five million Twitter followers earlier this week that she actually hit the road a little early and is already getting used to tour life.

“Welp, I guess I’m officially on tour! All packed up & in some hotel somewhere…just livin’ the dream!,” Carrie tweeted out, alongside the hashtags “#TheStorytellerTour,” “#Excited” and “#Blessed.”

Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller – Stories in the Round” tour kicks off at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 30.
