Lamar Odom Is Living Near Khloe Kardashian, And James Harden Is Okay With That [Report]

Lamar Odom is out of the hospital and living close to his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian. Although the pair are expected to divorce very soon, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has reportedly rented Lamar Odom a house near her home in Calabasas as he continues to recover from an October 2015 drug overdose.

“Khloe rented [Lamar Odom] a place inside her gated community to keep him close,” an insider told Hollywood Life on January 26. “With Khloe still involved with James Harden, she did not want Lamar staying at her place and interfering with that relationship. When [Lamar Odom] first got out of the hospital Khloe wanted him close by her and kept him in her home but has since moved him to a big house in her neighborhood.”

Lamar Odom’s new home is “down the road” from Khloe’s in The Oaks, a gated community located in Calabasas, California. However, due to his current mental state, Lamar Odom was unable to sign a contract for the home himself. So, at this point, the home is technically rented by Khloe.

According to a second Hollywood Life report, Harden was said to be “happy” that Khloe had moved Lamar Odom out of her home and into a place of his own. While Harden is understanding of Khloe’s ongoing support for her former partner, he also didn’t want to be forced into an uncomfortable situation.

“[Lamar Odom] is doing so much better,” a source told E! News on January 26. “His speech has improved dramatically. He still has a way to go, but his progress over the past month has been great.”

And as for him and Khloe’s relationship, the source claimed they had established a solid friendship.

“They are just so close right now,” said the source. “If [Lamar Odom] is not in therapy, he is often with her.”

In addition to Lamar Odom living close by, he and Khloe are said to be making it a point to have dinners together every single night. The source also claimed that no matter how busy the high-profile pair get, they have agreed to come together for family time at night, which Khloe spoke of during a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“He’s hung out with Kourt’s and [Kim Kardashian’s] kids. [Lamar Odom] loves family time,” she said. “So, he’s been doing really good. I think it makes him feel good to be around everyone, too, and to just be in a happy environment over obviously where he was.”

Lamar Odom wed Khloe in 2009, but in 2013, after rumors claimed Lamar Odom had been unfaithful and was indulging in drug benders, Khloe filed for divorce. However, even though their romantic relationship ended at that point, Khloe has kept in touch with Lamar Odom in the years that followed and immediately flew to his side in October after learning he had been found unconscious.

Because Lamar Odom and Khloe were technically still married at the time of his overdose, she was left in charge of making key medical decisions for the former professional athlete.
